Chapter 6: Sick Love

Y/N coughs multiple times and sucks snot back into his nose. "Damn it," he said as he lied in bed. His breathing was slow and his body felt weak. Pulling the blankets of his bed was tough and felt that he would need the strength of Hercules to move them around.

There were two knocks on his door and it would open as his mom said "Y/N?" before entering. She looks and sees him lying in bed and not moving. "Y/N?" she questioned before walking over to him. "Are you ok?"

"No," he answered before coughing again. "I feel horrible."

"Oh," she said before placing her hand on his forehead and quickly pulling it away. "Oh, baby, you're burning up."

"I feel so horrible," he told her.

"I can tell. You're staying home today baby," she replied.

"Thank you," he retorted.

Kokoro walks by and looks into her brother's room. "What's going on?" she inquired.

"Y/N is sick. He's gonna stay home," Asano explained.

She looks over her mother's shoulder to see Y/N lying in bed while looking like death. "Oh, I see," she responded. "Feel better Y/N!"

"Thank you," he replied before pulling the blanket over himself.

Both Asano and Kokoro walk out and close the door behind themselves. "Have a great day in school," Asano told Kokoro.

"I will. See ya," she said before taking off and out of the house.

Kokoro took the normal path she and Y/N used whenever they would walk to school together. It felt odd this time. Very few times did she or Y/N walk to school alone and they would always go together.

But this is one of the few times of course and it made her feel slightly uncomfortable. For so many years, they have walked together so not having him gave her an odd feeling and wanting Y/N to be there with her. As much as she liked to mess with her brother, she did enjoy moments like these and they didn't feel right without him.

But she manages and gets to school with no problems. She enters and is almost instantly greeted by Nino. "Kokoro!" Nino said.

"Huh?" she said before turning around to see Nino. "Hey!"

Nino got close to her and asks "how are you?"

"I'm good," she answered. "You?"

"Same. I've been doing better in some of my classes," she told her.

"That's good to hear. You have been doing horribly," Kokoro bluntly said.

"Yeah, but that jackass has been helpful," Nino replied.

Kokoro giggles. "That's good at least," she retorted. The bell rings and Kokoro looks her friend in the eyes. "Gotta go. See ya at lunch."

"See ya," Nino said before splitting apart from Kokoro and heading to her first class.

Time goes on and it's a normal day and Kokoro is wanting to get home as the clock ticks by. Eventually, it was Lunch and Kokoro was next up in line. "What would you like today?" asked the lunch lady.

"Barbecue Beef Combo please," she told her.

The lunch lady makes it and hands it to the girl as Kokoro gives her the money. After that, Kokoro walked away and looked for a spot to sit. "Hey! Over here!" Nino told her.

Kokoro looks over and makes her way over to the quintuplets. She takes a seat and says "hey girls."

"Hey," they all replied except Nino.
