She opened the door gently and motioned for me to go in first, which I reluctantly did. Inside, a man was sitting at a desk with a chair across from him. I assumed that this man was The Boss.
His aura oozed with luxury from his crazy expensive looking suit and his glistening wristwatch to his handsome face and perfectly neat hair. I couldn't deny the fact that he was insanely good-looking, but he had to be the man in charge so I hated him.
To add, the room itself was regal. Statues lined the walls and the ceiling had a Michael Angelo style painting on it. It looked like a palace. As I walked in, the door shut behind me, making me nervous. I glanced behind me and the stout woman was not there. I guess it was just me and this prick.
The man smiled in an off-putting way which made me want to vomit.
"Have a seat,"
Although defiant, I was still intimidated by him so I did as told. Before he could start talking, I took the opportunity to speak my mind.
"Who are you and what 'use' do you have for me?" I glared, trying my best to look daunting in front of this man who could probably kill me if he wanted to.
"Ah, starting strong, I see." He adjusted himself and looked me straight in the eyes. "I need you for a kind of ransom. Bait, if you will."
"What?!" I exclaimed. "Why use me as bait?"
At this point I was 100% sure that this was not just a kidnapping and I had been specifically targeted for a reason.
The Boss, however, looked surprised as well.
"Has he not told you?"
"Who?"
"That idiot..." he whispered.
"What the heck are you talking about? Stop being so cryptic!" I was losing my temper quickly.
"I hate to be the one to tell you this, but your dad, as cliche as it sounds, is the leader of a very powerful Mafia group. I happen to be the heir to his rival group, making you my enemy."
All of the pieces were coming together. Every question that I had was being answered. My dad was training me to be overly cautious in case something like this were to happen.
"W-what?" is all I managed to say.
"Are you okay? You look a little bit pale..."
"No, I'm fine." I took some deep breaths.
"Oh," The man exclaimed. "I've forgotten to introduce myself. I'm Watanabe Haruto, heir of Rose Group."
"Um, I'm Shin Solji."
"I know." He smiled. "You are also the heir of Gold Group."
"Huh?"
"Well, since you are the oldest child of Shin Bomin, you are the heir to his empire. It's actually quite dumb of him not to tell you, when he could get into an... accident any day now and you would be thrown in to power with no idea what you're even in charge of."
I could only sit in awe of this new information that was being revealed to me. It's nothing like what I expected but at least my questions have been put to rest. Haruto stood up.
"You will be staying here until your father comes to get you. He should realize you're missing when you don't come home around 10 pm so," He glanced at his watch. "about an hour from now. He'll stay up waiting for you until he realizes that you aren't coming back. Then he will know that this is my doing and he'll try to find a way here. This is all a rough estimate, of course, but it's the most likely outcome."
"Please let me talk to him." I whispered.
"Hm... Maybe we can arrange some sort of ransom video for him. Meanwhile, let me get you familiar with the house."
He started to walk out of the room so I stood up and followed him. We went down the hall back to the room I had woken up in.
"This is obviously your room, you can do whatever in here, I literally do not care."
I nodded and followed as he kept walking to the next destination. Just around the corner, Haruto opened a door to another bedroom.
"This is my room where I spend most of my time. If you urgently need me, knock on the door and I will tell you when you can come in. Or, if you get scared or lonely at night you can come sleep with me." He glanced at me and smirked.
"As if." I rolled my eyes.
He continued to show me the kitchen, library, and other things like that. The living room was exquisite. It was entirely white except for the furniture, which was black or dark gray. It's hard to explain, but since the room was more or less a circle, the walls had a balcony on them and we were the outlook. There were 11 doors (I counted) that led out to the railing.
"Now there's just one more thing." Haruto stopped for a moment and inhaled, yelling, "LIVING ROOM, NOW!"
Now I'm not gonna lie, it made me jump but then the feeling of surprise was replaced by confusion. Who was he calling for? Almost as if I was scripted to think that, all 11 doors opened and boys came out of each one, running for the stairs. They all came down and stood in a line in front of me and Haruto.
I took a look at each one and was terrified to see two of their faces. The first took me a moment to recognize, but it was the boy who I had seen at the coffee shop just this morning, whose name I didn't know. The second one really gave me goosebumps. It was Mr. Choi, Mrs. Kim's substitute teacher, with a bright smile on his face.
"M-mr. Choi?" I choked.
All of the boys looked at Mr. Choi, whose joyful smile turned into a sheepish one.
"Hey Solji." He said quietly while scratching the back of his neck.
I looked at Haruto angrily. He smirked.
"I'm glad you know Hyunsuk, but let's have everyone introduce themselves."
One by one, they said their names and what their position in the group was.
Firstly, Choi Hyunsuk, of whom I've already been introduced, dealt in basically keeping the group in check. The mom, if you will.
Next up was the round-cheeked graceful one. Kim Doyoung. He was the distraction, whether it be seduction or a perfect display of fear or confusion.
The one with an angular face and a fierce look was Kanemoto Yoshinori, one of two snipers.
The boy from the coffee shop, I found out, was named Yoon Jaehyuk, and his smile was gorgeous and kind looking. He was the Medic/emotional support guy.
Then there was Hamada Asahi, who was a pretty intriguing guy. He seemed emotionless and his role was the explosives technician. It suited him, like the
"Silent but deadly" trope. The boy with wide shoulders, tan skin, and a mature face was Park Jeongwoo. I won't lie, he was the best looking out of them all, in my opinion. He was one of the technology guys, mainly in charge of communications, dealing with in-ear pieces and stuff.
The next guy wasn't taller than everyone else but he had insanely long legs, which gave the illusion that he was taller than he actually was. His name was Kim Junkyu. He stayed behind the computer all day, monitoring the cameras.
The baby-faced muscular one was So Junghwan. He specialized in Melee combat, aka close range and handheld weapons.
The short buff one was Takata Mashiho. He, along with Junghwan, fought Melee. He also made meals for the team every once in a while. He looked small, but I could tell that underneath the pajamas, he was seriously muscular.
The muscle pig with sharp eyes was Park Jihoon. He completed the Holy Trinity of melee men. His smile was the most killer, though.
Bang Yedam, who was also on the shorter side for a guy, had a warm, welcoming aura unlike some. He was the second half of the sniper team.
And that was all of them. It would probably take me a while to remember all of the names, faces and positions, but it didn't matter since I wasn't going to be here long. My dad would find me and get me out and we'd go home and live normally-- Whatever that is for our family.
