"This is not what I have in mind when I say I'm taking you home." Bin glances at the beautiful woman walking beside him.
"I've told you I'm staying here for the night."
"And I thought I could change your mind."
Ye Jin giggles softly. "Nothing like telling my father what happen by going to your place. This is better. Taking a walk at night."
"Well, when the other option is a three-minute drive, walking is the obvious choice. I want to spend sometime alone with you, preferably not sending you home, not the opposite." Bin grumbles.
"You have a very single track of mind." She says with amusement.
"I'm a man." He says with a quirk of his eyebrows. Ye Jin can't help but laughs.
She said a firm no when Bin suggested they went to his apartment. It was the easiest way to send a wrong message to her father. He would hope something happen soon.
And she was so right about that. Her father's eyes lighted up with happiness when Bin asked his permission to take her for a walkaround the compound.
Ye Jin wasn't fond of false hope. False hope somewhat always ended up worse than even the harshest reality. Because even as they walk hand in hand, Ye Jin doesn't know what happen between them. He wants to take her home—
For what?
Sex is obvious. And she is definitely not opposed to that. But then what?
Deep inside, she wants an answer to her question before they go anywhere beyond the gate of this place. This is her safe place where she can hide behind her father. This is where she knows she has the upper hand.
Going into his apartment means she is all alone without a safety net. And without his clear intention, she isn't sure she's ready.
Will he answer her if she voices her inner thought?
She is so lost in her thought that she is surprised when Bin lets her hand go to drape his suit jacket on her. Ye Jin helps herself inserting her arms to the jacket and immediately his body heat envelops her.
It's warm. It smells like him.
Ye Jin smiles at Bin who strokes her arms up and down on to make it warmer.
"You are thinking too much tonight." He says as he intertwines their hands again and they continue their walk toward the presidential residence.
"Am I?"
"I saw your frown after you greeted Governor Gong."
"Oh. That was— ugh, my father said something to Ji Cheol-ssi about conversing over dinner. I tried to decipher what he meant."
Bin's grip on her hand tightens, "Ji Cheol-ssi?"
"Err, well, yeah, when we danced... it just came up and he asked me to call him by his name."
"That fucking dance. I should've run so he didn't have a chance to be Ji Cheol-ssi to you when I'm still Hyun Bin."
His grumbling is so absurd Ye Jin doubles up with laughter. "You are jealous of him."
Bin sighs. "I didn't know I was a possessive man until I saw him touching you early on."
"Hmm? When was this?"
"When he came up at you and your father."
Ye Jin thinks about it and remembers why she lost her balance in the first place. "That was because I lost you."
