Welcome back to Book Talk friends. I know, it's been a while but I'm back and couldn't wait to write about the amazing book that I just read called Dylan.
I would like to shout out the author; AdeolaAkinkunmi for writing such an amazing book. They also have three other books and I'm not sure if Dylan has a sequel and if anyone knows, please comment or let me know so I can read it.
Anyways on to the review. For starters this book isn't a slow burn or a fast paced/rushed romance, I feel like it goes at the perfect pace for a romance but others might dis agree. I would like to note that it falls closer to the category of slow burn rather than fast pace.
The characters come with some baggage, which I really like since it makes them more human and less fairytale like, which could be bad for those of us that easily fall in love with fictional characters. Jasalie Gordon comes with the most baggage out of the two and her past trauma and experience makes it hard for her to give up to Dylan. Dylan Wild comes with some family troubles and a super traumatic experience that causes him to make a rash decision towards the end of the book but this decision helps them both grow as people.
Also just a side note on Jasalie, she "plays hard to get" (which isn't really what it is) and doesn't cave into Dylan for a while and some might find that frustrating or hard to read but I promise that it is worth it at the end of the book.
Overall this book was a really good book, nice and refreshing especially as someone who couldn't find anything I wanted to read for a little bit. I recommend it to anyone who liked the something there series or any kind of cliche-ish books.
P. S. This book is not full of cliches which makes it really good, but it does have a classic Hollywood scene that you'll find out about if you read the book.P. P. S. I will review the requested book soon, I promise.
