TINASHE

I led Musa to the bedroom. I had been in drought for way too long and it was going to end today.

'But you're not even wet'
The voice in my head said.

It was true that I wasn't wet but that's just how I've always been. That's what lube was made for right? I only get wet when I think of the fictional men in the stories I read. You know, the possessive dominant men that don't really exist.

I was brought back to my senses by Musa trying to lay me on the bed.

We were disturbed by his phone ringing in his pocket. He reached for it.

"Sorry babe, it's my mom"
He said fixing himself and answering his phone.

Musa: "ma"
...: ??
Musa: "Ng'yabuya manje (I'm coming back now)"
...: ??
Musa: "yebo ma (yes mom)"

He hung up and put his phone back in his pocket.

"I'm sorry babe, I have to leave"
He said kissing me.

"Don't forget about tomorrow"
He added

"I won't forget"
I promised

...

Mrs Zulu had been giving me the eye throughout the service. So I wasn't looking forward to the lunch at her house. I was now driving behind Musa's car that had him, his mom and all his 3 siblings.

He drove into this big fancy house. I followed after him. I stopped my car when he stopped his. They got out one-by-one and I took a long breath to prepare myself. This is it. I was meeting the family.

Musa knocked at my window. I hadn't noticed him come.
I opened my door, he held my hand and helped me out.

"Come, they're waiting for us inside"
We linked our arms together and walked inside the house.

When we entered the dining area where the others were waiting for us Musa broke the arm link. I understand because his mom is too traditional and probably not a fan of PDA.

"Sit here babe"
Musa said pulling a chair for me then he sat next to me.
His mom and siblings were still just looking at me.

"So Tinashe u right sesi (are you okay)?"
Mrs Zulu finally spoke

"Yebo ma (yes mom)" I answered

"So nithi niya jola? (So you say you're dating?)"
She continued. I didn't answer because I felt like Musa should be the one answering that. I just looked at him.

"Yes mom, I already told you. Ngu makoti lo (this is the daughter-in-law)"
Wow, okay. It's just been a week but I do love a man who knows what he wants.

"So when did you guys meet?"
Lunga asked us.

"It's been a week now, right babe?"
I looked to Musa for confirmation

Their househelp brought the food.

"Yeah"
He agreed

"Just a week and already she has met mom, ya'll are rushing don't you think?"
Lungile said while looking down at me.

"Lungile, behave"
Musa reprimanded him.

I love a man that can stand up for his woman. I guess I have chosen right.

"You did right by bringing her early because kids these days start by doing all these crazy things before involving parents"
Mrs Zulu said, she took me by surprise because I assumed she'd also say we're rushing.
