Chapter 32: Time of change

Soon the jedi arrived to Courscant were they were recived by the chancellor, master Yoda and another jedi among them Ava Palpatine who had a small idea of what had happend. The ship landed and the jedi started to escort the sith to prison letting the feeling of amusement become dominant in the atmosphere that no one could find the right words to describe it in the future.

When Zoey and Anakin left the ship, Ava went to greet her sister who hugged her first wich called Ava's attention, normally she was the one to hug Zoey when she arrived so the fact that now she wasnt the first to do so was a surprise for her.

Anakin left to give the sisters some space, Ava asked

"Zoey, are you feeling alright?" she sounded surprised

She replied with ease "Yeah, everything is just fine, little sister"

Zoey would never tell Ava what happend with Yris in a long while -at least- because she knew that despite all the evil things Yris was capable of doing Ava still loved her, so she didnt know how she would take the news of what she did.

Days went by and the preparatives for Dooku and Draken's trial were in order while in the jedi order they were making preparatives for another trial against Anakin Skywalker and Zoey Palpatine for breaking the code, they were worried at first for what the council could do to them but they didnt cared any longer, whatever the choice the council would take that would not change or affect that they felt for eachother.

Anakin asked "Are you still nerveous?"

She replied "No, im not" and then she said "I have the feeling we'll come out of this well"

He smiled and asked in a flattering way "Have you always been this optimistic or is a mandalorian thing?"

Zoey smiled a little, letting a small giggle escape from her and anwsered "I belive is a virtue that not all of us use"

He took her hand and then kissed it while she blushed. In the meantime on the jedi council points of view divided them, the minority thought both jedi knights should be exiled however the rest of the council felt that exile was not the anwser and some noticed in the past that Anakin might have had a romantic relationship with Padmé in the past so they were able to notice that he and Zoey became closer recently, even Mace suspected that Zoey had these feelings for Anakin from many years ago.

He remembred that Zoey and Anakin were close since childhood, how he consider him a bad influence on his old padawan, in the other hand Obi Wan thought that Zoey has always been a confident and great friend for Anakin on the past making his life on the temple less lonlely and depressing so it was expected that their relationship evolved not to mention he now understood why they decided to have a romantic relationship for now Obi Wan had one with Alika, if he spoke up for Anakin revealing that he himself had a romantic relationship in front of the council he possibly could have the same luck but after all what his old padawan did for him, he had to help him.

Many members of the council tought the jedi order had to adjust and grow for a better future, with all this dilema they decided to make the trial before the republic did their trial against the sith.

The separatist alliance started to divide from the inside making harder for Grievous keep it together, without a sith lord that knew how to keep order and obidience; Mactabilis ran away however he never said were he'll go or if he'll ever come back while Maul and Hybrid went to another planet but neither of them said why, so many secrets weren't the best in those moments so he'll have to keep everything in order by himself.

He wanted to take advantage of the trial against Dooku to attack Courscant but that would be suicide, he'll have to wait for a better moment if there would be any.

On Courscant, the trial agaisnt Zoey and Anakin started. They were in front of the council and they confessed that their relationship started after the betrayal of Quin Lan Vos, Anakin confessed he had a romantic relationship and marriage with Padme however it only lasted three years and both decided that it was better to divorce, the masters looked at Anakin with disbelief in their look.

Zoey confessed that she have been inlove with Anakin before the battle of Geonosis, Mace spoke up firmly and disappointed

"Anakin, you were old to even start your jedi training but we accepted upon the request of Qui Gon and Obi Wan" he paused and then said "I've always knew you werent a good influence on Zoey" then he sentenced "I vote that Anakin and Zoey be expelled from the order indefinitely"

The members of the council started to whisper between them some agreeing and other disagreeing but master Yoda asked for silence and requested the thoughts of Obi Wan, trusting his judgement

Obi Wan said "I knew about their relationship before master Windu found out but i must say i also have a romantic relationship with Alika" he paused and then asked " as jedi, arent we supposed to love to?" and then said "It is the will of the force and the way of the jedi to love all good things and love everyone"

Ki Adi Mundi joined by saying he agreed with Obi Wan and the jedi knight, saying he had a family and he formed part of the council and the jedi order so, why couldnt they?. Kit Fisto said he was in favour of Anakin and Zoey saying that it was beautiful that they found another reason to live besides the jedi code, they bowed to Kit Fisto for such kind words, another members like Plo Koon and Shaak Ti stood by them.

Yoda was in deep thought, he -more than anyone else- knew that the jedi order needed to change, adapt and grow as Qui Gon and Dooku foresaw, the old master spoke up and gave his decision: he announced that they could stay in the order.

This surprised everyone in the room

The little master said "Change the jedi we must" he paused and then said "Understand and feel the force we cant for blinding us the arrogance is"

The jedi order would start to reform itself while preparing for the trial of Dooku wich would soon be celebrated, soon after Anakin thanked the masters that supported them, specially to Obi Wan who took a great risk by supporting him.

"I dont even know how to thank you, master" Anakin said gratefull

"You would have done the same, Anakin" the he commented "Now im only wondering what Alika is going to think when she hears the news"

"You'll have to find out by yourself" Zoey replied

After this, Anakin and Zoey went to take a walk and get some fresh air, enjoying that one chapter on their lives ended and a new one was just starting.
