Chapter 14

Ashleys P.O.V.

Heaven was in his arms, cliche I know but it’s the truth. “Omigosh! ewww! stop making out and get an room!”

I jumped and fell back startled, “Chloe you’re just jealous because you don’t have a mate yet!’’ I teased her playfully. Jace grabbed my hand and pulled me up.

We started walking down to the house which we all decided to shift I had to follow them because I didn’t know the way back.  

At some point our focus wavered and we started screwing around and chasing each other, pretty much tag in wolf form. I tackled Chloe you’re it I laughed it sounded in wolf form more like I was dying or coughing up something really nasty.  We both started laughing in wolf form, and it was really screwy.  Hey Ash wheres Jace? Chloe asked I stood up and sniffed looking for him I whined a little bit and followed the pull that I always felt towards him.

I stared up at the tree it led me too I looked around and smelled him he was definitely here.” Hes her,’ I startted saying interrupted with the noise of leaves rustling---umphh I felt weight falling on my back from Jace jumping down from the tree, I growled at Jace to get off of me.  His weight shifted off of my back and I stood up and shifted back into an human. Chloe mindlinked me why are you shifting? its slower.

‘’because i feel like it and I’m bored also I wanna talk out loud.’’  I whined. I also just wanna kiss Jace again. I added in my head, I shifted back into a wolf anyways.  Chloe started running mind linking me to try and catch her, her laughs vibrated through my mind.

I chased after her  I looked around me sniffing Ashie where are you I can't find y- Jace’s voice cut off from my mind. I whined silently worried, my senses weren’t working I couldn’t smell anyone as I could moments before.  A scream pierced the air my muscles tensing scared. I ran towards the scream adrenaline running through my veins making my senses advance more than they already were, my nerves were haywire feeling every little thing brushing against my body as I ran, panic setting in.

Blood dripped across the ground in an trail, I shifted feeling a burn go through my body. I attempted sniffing again, nothing i touched the blood, I put my fingers near my nose it was Chloe the scent was so faint for some reason.  I screamed Chloes and Jaces name before shifting back, pain laced through my body I was  shifting slowly, the pain was too much i shifted fast into my human form again. I was panicking my muscles were tense, I sprinted staring at the ground intensely  staring at the blood trail, please be okay Chloe I begged in my mind. The blood trail became sparse in the grass leading up to an tree. “Chloe”  I said barely my voice hoarse.

I was almost crying Chloe’s body was punctured in two spots, one in her stomach area and one in her ankle. blood was surrounding her. I strained my ears hoping for an heartbeat, nothing tears welled in my eyes, I grabbed her wrist feeling for an pulse anything she was so pale. Thump. . . . . . .thump. Slow but there her pulse was there, I tried feeling through my bond to Jace, nothing whatever was happening it was messing everything up, my senses everything. I pulled Chloe up gently she screamed through her teeth in pain, trying not to be loud. “I have to move you Chloe,’’ I croaked out barely”this is going to hurt or burn . . .alot.”

‘’It’s a trap.’’ she whispered

She screamed, i pulled her up so her weight was against me, I panicked I had no idea where we were her words scared me ,

“Chloe where are we?” I asked nervous I hadn’t realized she fainted from the pain when i pulled her up.

Jace’s P.O.V.

  God damn how could I have distracted myself enough to lose Ashlee I punched a tree, rouge hunters were in the forest.  My senses were dulled by the freaking wolfsbane, but thats the thing how did they get it into us? That was the question, for wolfsbane to work you have to inject someone with it or put it into our food. I tried shifting the pain was agonizing but I needed to find Ashley . . . and Chloe. My senses were still dulled but I was determined to find them.

later still Jace's P.O.V

I almost was in hysterics my wolf wouldn’t stop whimpering at the idea of our mate being injured. My body was tired I would have to shift back soon. I tripped my muscles aching from earlier it took a large amount of effort to stand up.  I gave up and shifted back  feeling  better that i was now in my human form again.  i stood up the rest of the way I was a little wobbly, I heard a growl coming from my left I glanced at the rouge growling at him before i slammed him into a tree with new rush of adrenaline. “What are you doing in my territory hunter?’ he smiled at me

’’ what do you think im just doing my job.’’ i stared at him

‘’What do you mean?’’ I was furious I wasn’t going to let him go I choked him until his face turned red and let go ‘’Answer Me!’’ I demanded

“‘Your mate my friend’’ he grinned at me  I snapped his neck furious , I was going to get her and Chloe back no matter what. I heard a gun click behind me before my chest erupted in pain and I fell over. I watched through my blurred vision at the damn rouges standing above me, it was freaking Luke

“Fuck you.’’ I breathed out before I passed out.
