A/n: Hello everyone, sorry for the late update. College life has been really keeping me busy these days and recently I just caught the flu but I'm hoping on God to see me through.. here's a new chapter, by the way.

Julia POV

School went by really fast and I was nonetheless extremely grateful. My mom had texted me earlier that she was going to pick my sister from school since she had to take her to the dentist today. After saying goodbye to Casey, I got into my car and drove home.

Reaching home, I kicked my shoes to one corner of the living room and went into the kitchen to see if any food was in any way available but to my surprise, a basket neatly covered with a plaid napkin rested on the counter with a note beside it. Reading its contents, it was an instruction from my mom telling me to go take the basket of cookies to the new neighbors nextdoor. Oh yeah of course, I forgot we had new neighbors.

I sighed then took the basket, walked to the front door, put on white Crocs and walked over to the house next door. I rang the doorbell and the door opened and a woman's head peeked out with a smile.

" Hello" I said with a small smile.

" Oh hello dear, how may I help you?" The woman asked.

" I'm your neighbor next door and my mom has opted for me to give this cookies to you" I handed the basket over to her.

" Oh thank you so much dear, that's very kind of you. Why don't you come inside and you can meet the rest of my family?"

" I don't wanna be the cause of any distractions" I refused with a nervous laugh but she insisted.

" Oh nonsense, just come in. We don't bite, I promise" she smiled. Believing her, I stepped into her house while she closed the door behind me. She led me to the sitting room and I couldn't help but admire the decors. It was very aesthetic with some picture quotes hanging around the walls.

" My husband is at work at the moment but don't worry my kids are home" she smiled.

" I'm sorry ma'am, what's your name?" I asked.

" Oh my bad, my name is Ella" she said.

" Oh thanks, I'm Julia"

" Lovely name...."

" Thanks" I smiled at her and hoped that she'd hurry up, I was too darn tired.

" Kids come downstairs, we have a new friend" Ella hollered and I could hear footsteps coming down the stairs . Looking up, I saw a young girl of 6 years old come down the stairs with a doll in her hand.

" Julia meet my youngest daughter...Kate"

" Nice to meet you" she smiled.

" Thanks " she responded.

" You called mom?" A familiar voice said. Looking up, I made eye contact with Gabriella, the new kid in my class. Oh no.

" Julia?" She mumbled.

" Hi" I said.

" You girls know each other?' Mrs Ella asked.

" She's my classmate mom" Gabriella said. Oh someone shoot me. I can't believe the weird kid is my neighbor. Such a joy.

" Oh that's great"

" Sorry but I have to go now, have to do some chores" I told them.

" Oh that's okay, thanks for stopping by. God bless you" Mrs Ella told me.

" Yeah thanks" I nodded then left their house and walked over to mine and my mom wasn't home yet. I ran up to my room. I've gotta tell Casey about my unlucky situation. Still can't believe the weird new kid is my neighbor. Ew.
