THE THIRD AND FOURTH DAYS OF the camp went along with little problems, other than the typical rivalry between Okamikumo and Itachiyama; an odd, but a perhaps game-changing friendship between the two quiet first years who mostly kept to themselves had begun to form. Cheng Rui, the middle blocker of Okamikumo and Fukushima Ashima, the libero of Itachiyama, had been doing receiving drills together and the coaches were rather impressed by the synchronized attack the pair pulled; if they were ever to play professional or collegiate volleyball together in the future, they would be a dangerous duo.

The boys' side of the training camp, while with less clashing conflicts like the one between Okamikumo and Itachiyama, also had their fair share of clashes. Hohiumi Korai, being the admittedly rather showy player he was, had confronted Kageyama on the lack of awe the first-year setter displayed whenever he blocked, spiked or served. Sakusa and Atsumu had engaged themselves into a silent show of friendly (Atsumu) and cold (Sakusa) ignorance.

At least until earlier in the afternoon during lunch break when Yamashiro Fuyumi, who was childhood friends with Atsumu, explained to Kina and a few of the other second years (with a rather exasperated expression to boot) that Miya Atsumu himself had come to (beg) ask for her assistance in holiday homework (modern Japanese literature to be specific) in the middle of the night on the first day of camp.

(Sakusa and Motoya had passed by their table when the topic was brought up, so there it was, the end of awkwardness coming from Kina and Sakusa, and a later incident that brought out the more ... human? Desperate? Side of Sakusa Kiyoomi.)

ajinomoto training center, lounge !

The lounge of Ajinomoto Training Center, in which most of the stupidity that high school students possess no matter the calibre in volleyball. While there were a few of those rare hardworking people who spent the rest of their night before the lounge closed finishing up their holiday homework, more often than not you'd see the teens huddled up in groups around various tables playing games with homework set across their desk in forgotten gloom.

One such example would be the group of five girls who occupied a table near the corner of the inner lounge, their exercise books, pens and textbooks all set on one side of the large desk, the vibrant and alive part of the desk being where two piles of cards lay, the infamous +4 UNO card slapped onto the table by the lilac-haired Uzumaki Nanao from Soraya High School.

Much to the dismay of the other four second-years, who begrudgingly alternated between taking their four cards from the face-down pile. The usually smiling and sweet Yamashiro Fuyumi's crooked and taped fingers wrapped around Tsukishima Kina's wrist as the blonde tried (and failed) to snatch the +4 card from the smaller stack of cards.

"Tsukishima-chan, wrong pile," the noirette pointed out, her smile surrounded by a misty, dark aura.

"Ah, right," Kina said, withdrawing her hand from the table with a new card from the pile she was supposed to take her cards from. She had gotten a reverse card.

Miho, snickering at Kina's failed attempt, gestured to Kanoka. "It's your turn next, Amanai-chan."

Kanoka nodded, setting down a red 8 over the +4 card. She then set down another red 8, before she, to the amazement of the other four people, set down a blue 8 and two green eights -
