the bright starlight shone on jungwon's face when they stood by the railing staring at the sky full of stars.
its sad that he did not remember anything from his past but in his present, he was happy that his jongseong hyung could be happy again.
"hyung" jungwon chuckled looking at the older "i still can't believe that my great-grandfather and you used to date"
"not you making it sound so ancient" jongseong mumbled, at which both of them broke into a laugh.
then there was a pin-drop silence.
"jongseong hyung?" the younger mumbled softly "so, you're finally leaving me, right?"
jungwon fought back the urge to let his tears fall. jongseong smiled broadly when jungwon called him jongseong hyung.
it was a flush of nostalgia in a momentjongseong ruffled the younger's hair
"my task here is done, jungwonie~ besides, i don't even belong here" jongseong said smiling "thankyou"
"- and sorry for hurting you. that wasn't intentional it was just- i can't forgive myself for hurting you"
"hyung you don't need to explain... the pain i went through, is nothing compared to the pain you went through because of m-me-"
jungwon stuttered when his tears flushed out.
"you weren't even at fault" jongseong rubbed the younger's back
"ghost hyung" jungwon let out a deep sigh "there will be no right time to say this but..."
jongseong squinted his eyes and looked at the small tear stained face staring at him
"i love you... i love you much more than a friend, i love you so much that i will be letting you leave tonight when the moon comes up~ so that you will be happy"
jungwon had been piling up his feelings for long. he finally said it to jongseong the day he would turn into nothingness.
jongseong pulled the younger into an embrace and put his chin on his head. his hands were having a bluish to greyish opalescence. they were fading even quickly.
i do too.
"you have a life ahead jungwonie, my life had ended long back. this house is all yours now, take care of it for me~ your jongseong hyung will always look at you from among those stars"
jongseong ruffled jungwon's hair before wiping his tears off.
"don't cry, hey, my brave boy" jongseong said "look at that big star"
"no, you're my moon, hyung... you're bigger than every night's star... when the moon appears and takes you with him, i'll consider the moon is you~don't forget me hyung"
"you too jungwonie" a tear drop hurled down the ghost's face.
"i'll miss you so much, my precious kitten... take care" jongseong said and held jungwon's hand. jungwon's fingers were now intertwined with the older. his fingers faded from the grip with every second.
the moon came out from behind the clouds and just then the blond boy started to fade into white shining butterflies.
the hand that jungwon was holding, got reduced to a swarm of butterflies in milliseconds and disappeared in thin air.
"i'll miss you even more, jongseong hyung"
jungwon didn't cry, he realised sacrifice played the biggest role in love. no matter what jongseong did to him, he'd always forgive him- because he really loved the older and now he did let him go.
he was in a better place now, jungwon smiled and walked inside the house.
