The first part of this chapter is from a 3rd person point of view.
The blonde woman wearing a dark cloak wandered the halls of the palace. A menacing smile on her face as she knocked on a door.
"Ridis it's Maylene. I wish to speak with you." No response was given but a few seconds later the voluptuous redhead opened the door wearing some alluring nightwear.
"Yes what is it Maylene" she spoke in a more polite voice than she normally would towards Maylene.
In truth Ridis despised Maylene with every fiber of her being but something changed that relatively recently. Edelweiss, if such a sweet girl was Maylenes daughter then perhaps she wasn't all bad.
"I've had enough of you. You're the favorite mistress and people consider you the queen. Those spots should belong to me not you!" She said angrily
Ridis expected this Maylene was a greedy woman afterall. "Maylene I have been here longer and birthed two princes. On top of that your personality ruins your appearance." Ridis said in a deadpan voice expecting Maylene would just vent throw something and then leave.
"But that wasn't good enough. Now you took my precious daughter from me." Her voice filled with Venom as she revealed a dagger before lunging forward plunging it into Ridis' breast attempting to pierce her heart.
Ridis was shocked. Sure maylene was quick to anger and often hurled insults and belittled others but now she had truly lost it.
"Edna is my child not yours. Now die you filthy harlot." Maylene said with a sadistic smile on her face.
"Edna? Edna?!? EDNA!" Ridis yelled filled with anger and the pieces began to connect. In truth the dagger with not large enough to reach her heart though it did hurt like a bitch.
"That's the useless girls name isn't it. Oh wait my precious daughters name." Maylene cackled still believing Ridis was about to die.
What Maylene didn't know was that not only was the wound not fatal but that Ridis was a master of Solar magic, and advanced form of magic combining both light and fire.
"Her Name is EDELWEISS!" Ridis said unleashing a powerful flare in Maylene's face singing the walls behind and awakening most of the residents of the palace. Meanwhile Maylene was screaming in agony rolling on the ground her face horribly burnt and disfigured.
Ridis was shocked at the sight normally she was very composed and wouldn't waste solar magic on something like this.
The guards and King Arrived. Ridis feeling tired leaned herself against the wall beginning to feel tired. "Was the dagger poisoned?" She thought but not willing to pull it out at risk of causing excessive bleeding.
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS!?!" The knight captain said furious
"Ah C-Captain. You have to help me Ridis is crazy. I wad only trying to talk and she attacked me. I only defended myself." She said in a manic voice while her marred face put on its usual look but now ruined because her outward appearance reflected her inner appearance.
"Silence. Ridis would never waste a powerful spell to kill trash like you." A booming voice said as the King of Lestrand appeared.
"Y-you're majesty." Maylene said with tears in her eyes
"Guards take her away. She'll be executed tomorrow." He never let her finish as the guards took maylene and hauled her off
"Wait your majesty pl-" but she was out of earshot.
Then immediately the king rushed to Ridis' side. "Are you ok dear?"
"Just... a bit tired." Ridis said as exhaustion caught up to her and she passed out
