CHAPTER THIRTEEN

MINJUN FELT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. His body was numb and his ears were ringing. However, he felt like he was going to die. It was his fault for getting so attached to someone in the first place. He shouldn't have. It was stupid. But... he didn't regret it.

Seulgi made him feel safer in this insane situation that they were in. She didn't deserve to die. She deserved to live out her dream and pay off all of her debts and get her sister a proper memorial. He felt sick to his stomach.

      He felt like vomiting.

So, when they were given a potato, he couldn't eat it at all. He just couldn't. He just stayed on his bed, staring at the ceiling.

He couldn't even bring himself to pay attention when one player started shouting at them, trying to convince them to end it.

All he could do was think about what could've happened if they only had a little more time. Maybe he could've figured out how to save the both of them. He hissed and threw his hands over his face. That would never work. The game was designed for them to work against each other. Only one would've lived no matter what they had done.

He paused, removing his hands as he thought of something. What if they both still had their ten marbles by the time the countdown was over? Would they both have been killed? It was a horrible thing to think of, but at least he wouldn't have had to be stuck here doing absolutely fucking nothing while Seulgi sacrificed her life for him.

He couldn't believe that this was reality. He didn't want to. There was no way. No way. He pursed his lips, swallowing thickly as he felt the tears that he thought he had discarded threaten to escape his eyes.

He quickly wiped his face, biting his lip in order to keep himself from crying.

He let out a shaky breath before taking in a deep breath, letting it out a few seconds later. He hadn't even realized he was thinking for so long until the lights were turned off, signaling that it was 'lights out.'

However, it didn't seem like many people were actually going to get to sleep because the one guy from their previous team who was always talking about God and shit was praying fast. And loud... sorta.

Eventually, the man stopped and Minjun was able to shut his eyes for a few moments, and before he knew it, he had fallen asleep.
