Mom and Dad,
If you read this, I'm really sorry that I left without letting you guys know. I just can't allow both of you to fight to get Quentin back. I don't want you to die out there.
I decided to get Quentin myself. Perhaps I could go to Cech undetected. No worries. I just decided to head to Gomorrah first for Ylode to tell me what to do once I'm there. And when I am, I'll kill the king, and bring Quentin back.
I'll be fine, I promise. I'm pretty sure that I could get help along the way. Just please stay at home and don't try to join the fight. I'll let you know once I find Quentin.
Please don't try to follow me.
I love you both.
- Holy Mae
I read the letter one last time before folding it and leaving it in the living room. I was already dressed in jeans, shirt, and combat boots with a duffel bag that was on my shoulder. I fixed my hair and placed my beanie on before leaving the house in silence, careful to not disturb anybody. Afterwards, I went to the barn and called Sergei, who immediately rushed to me, petting him for a while before riding on him.
"Let's go, boy." I whispered as the horse neighed and started running away from the palace. We then went to the direction of the Queen's Palace first, hoping to talk to Queen Aria. Maybe they already have an immediate action to the soldiers that were arrested in Cech, and I won't leave.
Minutes later, I arrived at the palace and immediately tied the leash to a nearby tree. I then ran to the entrance of the palace, where I was stopped by soldiers.
"Let her in." Prime Minister Cruz said from afar, walking towards me and the soldiers allowing me to approach him, "Miss Holy Mae St. Thomas." He greeted, "What brings you here?"
"I need to speak to Queen Aria. It's about my brother."
"What's-"
"He's on that ship that surrendered to Cech, sir." I said as his jaw opened in shock and we decided to run together to the Queen's office. As we were in the office, he knocked on the door and it opened, revealing Queen Aria, frantically working at papers and a phone in her ear. Her secretary was busy as well, frantically working around.
"Your Majesty." The Prime Minister greeted.
"We'll talk later Nathan-"
"It's Avelon and Spirit's daughter." He said as the queen stopped doing her work and looked at Nathan then to me, surprised upon seeing me.
"Your Majesty." I greeted, pursing my lips in anticipation.
"Holy Mae." She mumbled as I nodded in confirmation, "You look after your father, Spirit."
"Thank you ma'am." I mumbled, "I've been told."
It's something I got used to really. Despite having green eyes, with my dark ash blonde hair and my face, people would say that I'm a carbon copy of my dad. The same thing can be told to Quentin. He looks after mom, despite having blue eyes and black hair with no golden babylights.
"What brings you here?" She asked.
"I'm here because my brother, Quentin, was one of the soldiers in the ship that surrendered to Cech. He's in Cech prison now. I don't want my mom and dad to fight in wars anymore. It's just right that the last time they fought was when they were trying to get rid of Rebellious Heroes." I breathed, "Do you have any actions to rescue them, Your Majesty? Maybe I can help?"
"We're still planning-"
"Plan?" I cut her off, "Plan is just an alternative to waiting something out. And I can't wait out, Your Majesty. He'll die if I do." I said as I walked out in frustration, not minding Prime Minister Cruz calling out my name.
If there should be a plan, it should be something fast, not the ones that have to go through different processes, not when lives are on the line.
I got out of the palace and ride out to the airport, where I could get a ticket to Pangaea. Ylode knows about the different countries due to her degree. And she could be of great help at the moment.
As I arrived at the airport, I took my bag and pet Sergei for a while. "You know your way home, right?" I whispered, hoping that he'll remember the training I gave him, "Run home and keep mom and dad safe for me, okay?" I mumbled as I kissed him and gave him a slap on his backside, causing him to run, hopefully back home. I then entered the airport, only to find out it was closed.
"Excuse me." I asked to an airport guard, "Why's the airport closed?"
"Travel restrictions ma'am."
Shit.
Just as I thought I lost hope, I saw a man cleaning his orange Cessna plane. My eyes light up when I saw him and I immediately ran to him, calling him from afar. He then stopped cleaning and looked at me when I was near him, "What can I do for you?"
"Does your plane work?" I asked.
"Yes."
"Then take me to Gomorrah."
"I'm afraid I can't do that ma'am-"
I cut him off by taking huge amount of cash off my pocket and handed it to him, "Take me to Gomorrah. Please."
The pilot was hesitant for a while, me secretly wishing to the skies that he'll say YES. The only reason why there are travel restrictions was because of a war between Tern and Cech. But I'm not heading to Cech. I'm heading to Pangaea, a safe place at the moment if he asks me.
It seemed like my prayers were answered when the pilot nodded, causing me to smile and thanked him as I gave him the cash. I then saw the pilot going to the guards and gave each of them cash, perhaps to allow us to travel. Luckily, the guards nodded and the pilot went back to the plane and I went in, him roaring the engine to life and are now flying to Gomorrah.
The flight lasted for an hour. As I was in the air, guilt started building up inside me. I left Tern without facing mom and dad for permission. Perhaps they're scared as hell for me too, especially that Sergei went back home without me.
But I have no choice. Quentin needs to be rescued.
An hour later, the plane landed at the open area of the forest. As it landed, tribes started appearing, pointing their weapons. Despite my fear, I went out of the plane and paid the pilot again before leaving. I then raised my arms in the air to tell them that I'm not a threat.
All of a sudden, a familiar tribal member appeared from the woods, her face scrunched in confusion when she saw me.
"Holy Mae?" She called, looking at me.
"Hi Aunt Ina." I greeted, telling her through my eyes that I need Ylode. I need her help.
