I woke up in an unfamiliar place, decorated with gold and crystals, like my home in Tern. The room I'm in is bigger than my room back home, perhaps twice as big. As I rose from my bed, I saw Ylode asleep in her bed across from mine.
I decided to go out of the room silently to avoid waking her. But as I went out, I was surprised that my night gown changed to a sparkly pink ball gown, same with what I wore on my 18th birthday, with white silky gloves on my hands. I then looked in the mirror and saw my hair in a bun but this time, instead of a tiara, I was wearing a gold crown.
I continued walking the enormous palace, looking around at the majestic and huge place, until...
"My queen." My head turned towards a deep male voice, and saw a tall man with a crown, whose figure is so blurry that I couldn't make out what he looks like. He went near me and it seems like... I'm smiling... when I saw him. Despite his blurry figure, our faces neared.
And I woke up. I then looked around me and realized that I'm still on the plane, with Ylode asleep beside me. I breathed out in relief and decided to look at the window for a while before putting myself back to sleep minutes later.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. In a few minutes, we are going to land in Cech Airport, please prepare for unloading."
I woke up again hours later when the pilot announced arrival in Cech. I then saw Ylode awake as well, eating breakfast. She then handed me breakfast, telling me to eat a bit faster so that we could have time in preparing our things.
After I had my breakfast, Ylode and I prepared ourselves for the landing. The plane was on the runway when the sun rose, causing me to see the wonderful sunrise by the window.
"Good morning." The flight stewardess announced, "We have now landed in Cech Airport. Please prepare yourselves and your things as we will unload in five minutes. Make sure that your valuables are accounted for. Once again, good morning and welcome to Cech."
Eventually, the plane stopped and all the passengers waited until it's ready to unload. And when it does, we watched as people lined up to leave the plane, waiting for our turn. Moments later, we went out of the plane, seeing Cech in awe, to be honest.
Just like Head State in Pangaea, huge buildings from afar welcomed us. In all honesty, the place is really beautiful, and with the large group of buildings, it's obvious that the place speaks of power.
"Cech was once a poor country, you know." Ylode said as we were walking to the airport, "Now, every inch of this place is freaking power."
"Why have a war with Tern?" I asked. But Ylode shrugged, saying that the cause is actually unknown. Eventually, we were in the airport, welcomed by usherettes.
"Welcome to Cech." They greeted, smiling at me and Ylode.
"Thank you." I smiled back as well. Then when we were past the usherettes, Ylode pulled me to the ladies CR, which surprisingly, is vacant. Then she took our bags and took out two dresses.
"Okay, you need to look good and desirable to be part of The Worth." She said, "So, wear this and I'll wear this." She gave me a knee-length cerulean dress that has ¾ sleeves, a turtleneck, and sunflower patterns. While she had the typical maid uniform, which was a long-sleeved, knee-length navy blue in color, accompanied with a white apron and black school shoes. "Just wear your heels that you're currently wearing today."
I then nodded as we both went in separate cubicles and dressed up. I closed the lid of the toilet bowl before taking off my blouse and jeans and folding them. I then wore the dress and smiled at the fact that though the top part of the dress hugs my curves, but the skirt is flowy, otherwise the dress would hug every curve of my body, and I'll lose my mind.
I went out bringing my folded clothes and saw Ylode in her maid uniform, putting her hair in a bun and placing powder and lip balm as make-up. I then went in my bag and placed the folded clothes in as Ylode looked at me and smiled.
"Look at you, Holy Mae. You look lovely."
"You look lovely too, Ylode." I giggled, "Way too lovely to be a maid."
"Thank you." She said as I smiled, "Wait. Sit on the sink. I'll do your make-up." I then nodded as I sat on the sink and she took out her make-up kit in her bag, starting with putting foundation, concealer and powder on my face, to eyeshadow, eyeliner, eyebrows and mascara, to my cheeks, putting blush and contour and finally to my lips, putting a natural nude color. I can't help but sigh at the fact that Ylode is more girly than I am.
I seriously should start learning more about make-up.
In just five minutes, she was done. She smiled at her work and told me to face the mirror, causing me to smile at her work as well. The make-up is a natural, day make-up, with brown eyeshadow, eyeliner, and a nude lipstick, "It looks good Ylode." I gasped as she winked and smirked at me.
"Time for your hair. I'll just re-curl a little, enough to emphasize your waves." She said as I nodded and she took out the curler, plugging it to an outlet near the sink. I then lowered myself to her level before she started re-curling my hair then putting it in a low side ponytail shortly after. Just 10 minutes for my hair, and yet, it looks so good. Afterwards, she gave me diamond dangles and bracelet and I wore them, completing my look, as Ylode placed back the things in the bag and ready to leave.
"You ready?" Ylode asked as I had one last look at the mirror and nodded before we went out of the ladies' CR.
We went out with her carrying her bag and me carrying mine. And as we neared the exit of the airport, we were met by soldiers.
"Good morning ma'am. IDs please." The soldier firmly said as we gave our IDs. Soon after, the soldier spoke again, "Miss Avelon Shirley? From Pangaea?" He asked as he gave back our IDs.
"Yes." I replied.
"And who's your companion?"
"Monica Benali." I replied again, "She's my maid." I can't help but cringe upon saying it. She's my freaking best friend, not my maid. But as I looked beside me, she seemed unaffected. She was really into this mission.
"Purpose for arriving in Cech?"
"To join The Worth." I said as the soldier looked at me, seemed to agree that with my appearance and being elite, I'm glad that I'm really the lady worthy for The Worth.
"The bus at the right carries the last batch of ladies for The Worth. There are 80 ladies allowed only. After that, it's over. So good luck ma'am." He said as he pointed the green bus.
"Thank you." I said as Ylode and I hurriedly walked towards the bus, trying to be part of the 80 ladies. As we reached the bus though, we were stopped by an inspector.
"ID please ma'am." He said as Ylode and I took out our IDs again and gave it to him.
"Miss Avelon Shirley and Miss Monica Benali. Are you both joining The Worth?"
"No sir, Miss Avelon is the only one. I'm her maid." Ylode replied as the inspector gave us back our IDs.
"Come in to the bus, ma'am. You are number 71." He instructed and we nodded, getting into the bus.
As we were already settled, Ylode and I quietly squealed in joy. We earned ourselves a spot for The Worth. All that's left to do is to do my best to be part of the 16 ladies, then complete all that's needed to marry the king.
And set Quentin free.
