Ylode was close to tears when I told her about mom and dad calling. At the same time, she motivated both me and herself. We have to fight for Quentin, we have to make sure that we would succeed in getting all of us home.
Late at night when Ylode was already asleep in her bed. I was asleep as well when a knock on the door woke me up. Not bothering to wake Ylode up, I decided to get up and open the door myself. As I opened the door, I looked at ground and rubbed my eyes, yawning, "Maria?"
"Unfortunately, it's not Maria." The deep voice replied, causing my eyes to go wide and looked at the person in front of me.
"Philippe?" I asked with my eyes wide as he chuckled, "What are you doing here?"
"I wish to bring you to the rooftop again." He said, scratching the back of his neck, "But since you're exhausted from the challenge-"
"I would love to Philippe." I smiled.
"But you were yawning-"
"At least I could have a break." I giggled as he smiled, "Do we have to go to the kitchen?"
"We don't have to." He smiled as he showed me the Corn cake and two spoons in his hand. I then closed the door gently behind me and began walking with him to the rooftop.
"Congratulations by the way." He said moments later when we were in the rooftop. While eating, we looked at the stars and the clear night sky.
"Thank you." I smiled, "Thanks for the tip by the way."
"Well, I told you it'll work." He said as I giggled.
"I watched the coverage earlier. You're a fan favorite. You and Mika."
"I know."
"Personally, I hope the king chooses you as his bride." He said as he looked at me, "I mean, given that the king is my friend and you being a good companion, I think he'll like you and most likely he'll choose you."
"Or Mika." I replied, rolling my eyes at him.
"He'll likely choose you."
"How can you say that?"
"I'll endorse you to him by the time he gets back." He smiled as I laughed and playfully smacked him in the arm.
"Don't do that." I laughed, "That's against the rules."
"Not when the king likes you." He chuckled.
"Whatever." I playfully rolled my eyes at him as we looked at the night sky. It was silent for a while until I decided to ask him about the metal door again, "Can I ask you something?"
"Sure." He smiled.
"Do you already know what's in the metal door?"
He looked at me again, his smile faltered, and gently shook his head, "No. They say it's confidential. I'm not allowed to see what's in it." I then nodded, "Why do you want to know?"
Shit. I thought. I have to be careful or else he'll find about me being from Tern or much worse, he'll find out that I'm Holy Mae St. Thomas, "Oh." I smiled, "I'm just curious really, given that it's the only high tech door in the castle."
He nodded, "Fair enough. Maybe it's filled with high tech stuff."
"Or prisoners." I said as his eyes went slightly wide but almost immediately recovered himself. He really does know something and he might be lying to me right now.
He breathed, "We should be going."
Moments later, we ended up in my room, with me opening the door, "I had fun tonight Philippe."
