"Mom! I can't believe I'm just hearing about this!" I'm bitching at my mom after she tells me we are oh so suddenly going to stay the weekend at Rob's house.
"Oh hunny, relax. I'm just hearing about it myself." my mother lies straight through her teeth.
"Are you guys going to disappear on us like you did on Thanksgiving?" I asked, knowing she wouldn't be able to lie through this one.
She was silent for a moment before nodding. "Yes, I do believe I recall Robert telling me on the phone that we would be going somewhere. But not to worry! You and Kyle are like the best of friends. It's only four days, you guys should get along fine!"
I rolled my eyes and sighed, watching the trees pass us as we make our way to wherever the fuck Kyle and Rob live.
I was actually quite anxious to see his house, I've never been myself. I wonder if it's huge or normal.
I crossed my legs and adjusted my skirt for the 20th time within the hour, still no panties on since Kyle wanted to steal them from me!
"Just relax, darling. I'll let you know when we're about to be there." My mother consoles me and focuses back on the road.
I roll my eyes and lean my head back against the seat. "I don't see why they couldn't have came over to our house again. I hate being so far away from home!"
"Get used to it, Jessi Bear, because after Rob and I are married, we're moving here full time."
My eyes widen as I sit forward in my seat. "And you don't think that I deserve a say in this at all? I don't know Robert. What if he's some sort of child predator?" I crossed my arms in front my my chest and looked away from my mother.
"You're overreacting. Kyle and you will have your own floor together so you won't get lost. You and Kyle seem like two peas in a pod so I don't understand your dismay. It will be alright."
"Just because Kyle and I get along well doesn't mean that I should be more than willing to go live in a strangers house."
"They aren't strangers, Jessica! You are being a child. There will be no further discussion on the topic. It's final!" my mother threw on her "mom voice" and I just decided to let it go.
I can argue until I'm blue in the face but she won't listen. She never does.
My mother cleared her throat and pulled up to a gated entryway. "We're here."
My mother types in a code and waits until the automatic gate opens all the way.
We drive down a long paved road, trees dotting either side of us.
When we finally make it to the house, I'm in complete shock.
This house was not only big, it was fucking huge.
"Jesus Christ, why do they need such a big house?" I ask to myself.
I hear my mother chuckle as she pulls up next to Robert's truck and parks.
"Come on now, dear. Get your bag and let's go!" My mother chides excited as she flies out of the car.
I grab my bag and examine the exterior of the mansion again.
There is a man dressed in a black and white suit at the front door.
"Good evening Mrs. Woods. Mr. Santiago is in the dining room waiting for you." the man bows his head, yes, fucking bows, as he holds open the door and we walk in.
I'm instantly met but a big foyer with two elevators on either side of the room, with a grand staircase in the middle.
There's extravagant paintings surrounding the room and priceless sculptures along the walls.
