second person pov:it was christmas eve and you had just finished frantically running around the crowded shopping mall like a maniac in effort to finish the last of your christmas shopping.
christmas was your least favourite time of year, you thought it was overrated. the tacky decorations, the cheesy christmas music that played repeatedly, the hallmark movies with dreadful acting. it all made you want to jump off a cliff.
you're on the way home when your phone buzzes with a notification. you were about to ignore it but when your eyes dart down towards your phone you see it's your girlfriend, billie, the only person you didn't want to ignore right now.
you let out a small chuckle at the sight of the name she had given herself in your phone - "your sexy ass girlfriend 😌"
the message read: "when are you coming homeeee? i bought ingredients to make cookies and i just lit the fire so we can cuddle by it and watch christmas movies all night".
billie loved christmas and you loved billie so you did what you could to make her happy despite your growing hatred for the holiday.
your thumb taps rapidly on your screen as you type out your reply: "lmao you're cute but the roads are jammed asf so i might be a while".
you press send and it's not even a minute later before your phone vibrates again with her response: "ughhh fr? i wanna cuddle right nowwww".
you message back with a quick answer: "hang in there baby 😘".
you tilt your head back against the headrest and drum your fingers against the steering wheel, waiting for the painfully slow traffic to start moving as you were longing to get home to your girl.
— time skip —
after much struggle with the door knob due to the gross amount of shopping bags you had in your arms, you aggressively kick the front door open and enter the house, dumping the presents at your feet.
"hi beautiful" billie sings gleefully, galloping down the stairs.
"hi" you say tiredly, closing the door behind you and giving her the best smile you could muster.
the frosty, wintery environment had caused your eyes to glaze over and your nose and cheeks to become numb and sensitive.
she wraps her arms around you, embracing you in a hug. with a prolonged sigh, you rest your chin on her shoulder and enjoy her gentle, calming welcome.
"fuck, that traffic was horrible and now i've got a shit ton of presents to wrap" you huff.
"don't be such a grinch babe, i'll help you" she says, grazing her hands up your sides.
"i was doing pretty well at not being a grinch but then you said yes to my parents christmas dinner invite. i still can't believe you did that" you groan, running a hand through your wild hair, another thing that the harsh weather had so kindly made a mess of.
"i'm sorry, i couldn't say no" she sighs, drawing her bottom lip into her mouth to chew on it.
"now we have to sit there and listen to their passive aggressive homophobic comments" you scoff, tossing a hand up in frustration.
"well we won't stay for long. we can just give them their gifts, eat and leave. okay?" she advocates.
"my mother can't cook for shit" you scoff again, rubbing your eyebrow.
you reflect on how truly disgusting your mothers cooking is, not that you consumed it much because you did your absolute best to avoid your parents. her concoctions could merely be called food. always insanely dry and flavourless, like eating a mouthful of cardboard.
"maybe that's where you get it from" billie grins, pulling you back into her.
"hey" you playfully flick her arm, pretending to be offended.
you both share a laugh.
it was true though, you were a terrible cook.
"let's just enjoy ourselves tonight, my love" she almost pleads.
"i'm sorry" you whisper.
"it's fine" she smiles sweetly.
"but now that you've stopped complaining, look up" she points a finger to the top of the door that you had walked through not so long ago.
there hung a mistletoe.
"you know that means you gotta kiss me right" she wiggles her eyebrows.
"i ain't got no complaints about that" you laugh softly, delicately taking her face in your hands and guiding her warm lips to yours.
you unwilling seperate, you want more and could tell she did too by the way she lingered and gripped your arm when you had to pull away but you knew you had a lot of gifts to wrap before tomorrow arrived.
— time skip —
you secure a piece of tape to the corner of your last gift and sit back to view the pile of them that had collected under your twinkling christmas tree.
"done" you say, relieved.
for the last hour and a half you and billie had sat crisscrossed on the floor wrapping and labeling gifts, you had gone through two cups of hot cocoa each and home alone was currently playing on the tv.
"see, told you we'd get it done. now let's make cookies" she squeals like a little kid.
to say you were tired was an understatement but she was adorable, her face was glowing with excitement, and you weren't about to spoil her fun, so baking cookies it was.
"ugh, i suppose so" you sarcastically groan as she pulls you to your feet.
billie had already eagerly gathered all the ingredients and utensils.
you follow billie's directions as you didn't have a clue as to what you were doing. you were more interested in sticking your fingers into the dough and eating it raw, much to billies displeasure.
"you're definitely on the naughty list baby" she giggles, lightly smacking your hand out the bowl for about the tenth time.
"why don't you punish me then?" you slyly suggest, seductively sucking the cookie dough off your finger, making sure you look straight into billie's eyes.
"oh, santa is not the only one coming tonight" she smirks, trying not to laugh at her own ridiculous joke.
billie shoves the bowl aside and it nearly falls off the kitchen counter but neither of you cared at all as you both had better things in mind.
together, you scramble up to the bedroom. hands all over each other, grabbing and gripping at whatever you could, littering the staircase with articles of clothing.
