i'm rudely awoken by a sharp stabbing pain in my abdomen and i know immediately that my period has started.

fuck my life.

i roll into the fetal position and clutch my stomach as i take a deep breath in and wait until my cramp weakens.

once the tightness subsides, i reluctantly push myself out of bed and notice my blood smeared across the white bedsheets.

"shit" i whisper to myself, burying my face in my hands.

apparently, i wasn't as quiet as i thought i was as i hear billie stirring from her sleep.

i remove my hands from my now flushed face to be met with my confused looking girlfriend.

"what's wrong love?" billie asks, her perfect brows slightly furrowed.

i let out a sigh and cowardly gesture towards the unsightly stain.

"i'm so sorry, i know you just bought them" i say, feeling embarrassed, i pull my fingers to my mouth and begin to chew on my nails.

"babe, it's only blood. i can just wash the sheets" she's says, manoeuvring herself across the bed to get to me.

"they're satin, what if the blood doesn't come out?" i worry.

"then i'll buy more, stop stressing" she says, interrupting my aggressive nail biting by gently removing my hands from my mouth and bringing them to hers instead, placing a kiss on each of them.

"so embarrassing" i say, cringing at the red patch.

"don't be silly baby, periods are normal" she comforts me.

redirecting my gaze to her, she plants a quick kiss on my left cheek, my right cheek and lastly my nose.

"how about you go take a nice hot shower and i'll run to the store and grab some tampons because i'm pretty sure we don't have any" she suggests, giving me a goofy grin.

"okay" i giggle lightly.

"okay" she says back, pecking my lips before chucking on her shorts and her hoodie that she had tossed on the floor during last nights antics.

"see you soon" she winks at me as she disappears through our bedroom doorway.

"please be quick" i say quietly to myself, knowing billie would definitely tease me for being needy.

i sluggishly drag my feet over to my dresser and select some clean clothes that are comfy and not covered in my uterine lining.

i peel my clothes off and slip into the shower, allowing the hot water to ease my aching body.

i feel myself become less tense as i tilt my head and the water trickles down my back.

i cautiously step out of the shower and wrap a towel around my lower half and pull my shirt, that is at least three sizes too big for me, over my head.

billie pops around corner, dramatically presenting me a box of tampons.

"tampons for my lady" she smirks.

"thanks but can you get out? i need to plug it up before i bleed all over the floor" i groan.

"it's not like i've never seen your pussy before" she laughs as she closes the door over.

i roll my eyes and continue to fix myself.

feeling a lot cleaner, i open the door to see a freshly made bed with painkillers and my favourite chocolates propped against my pillow along with a cup of lavender tea on my nightstand.

she really is the perfect girlfriend.

the second she notices me she tosses her phone to the side and walks over, reaching for my waist but i politely dodge her.

"huh? so i'm not allowed to touch you now?" she pouts.

"i feel puffy" i mumble.

"you look hot to me" she smirks, inching her way closer to me once again.

i whine and swat her hands away.

"lemme me cuddle you mama" she says sweetly, knowing very well that the combination of the cute nickname and the soft tone will make me cave.

i let her pull me into her and i rest my head against her chest, taking in her scent that i adore so much.

the warmth radiating from her body to mine was enough to make me fall asleep standing up, right there and then.

all of a sudden the dreaded sharp pain returns in my abdomen and i wince, squeezing my eyes tightly together.

"aw babe, let's get some painkillers in you" she says, pressing her lips to my forehead before leading me gently over to my side of the bed where the much needed advil awaits me.

billie picks up the box and pops out two capsules from the tray and i hold out my hand to accept them.

i put them in my mouth as billie hands me my lavender tea, i take a sip and then swallow as the warm fragrant liquid washes the pills down my throat.

"i don't know how you drink that flowery shit" she says, screwing her face up.

"it's nice" i shrug, giggling at her disgusted look.

"weirdo" she laughs, taking the cup out my hand and placing it back on the nightstand.

she rolls onto the bed and opens her arms for me to join her, without hesitation i crawl into them and nestle my head into her side as she places her hand comfortably on my butt.

"thank you" i say, looking up at her.

"what for?" she asks, her free hand finding mine.

"for all the things you do for me" i answer, squeezing her hand slightly.

"anything for you babe" she smiles, placing her finger under my chin to draw me into a slow and soft kiss.
