The meeting was troublesome to say the least. In the aftermath, emails were sent constantly. Apparently something was messed up with the payroll, so you had Kokonoi look it over. No matter how many times he reassured them it was correct, one would always disagree.

Then there was mission dispatchments! Nothing was straight forward after this cursed meeting. Mikey wanted to dispatch you on a rival gang case. Kokonoi had to correct that.

Basically everything was wrong.

Kokonoi was buried in work, as was all the higher ups were.

One day when you were delivering his coffee, he asked you to help him with his current work.

"I can try my best to help, it's not really my domain though."

"Don't worry _____, it's the easiest work ever, I'm just tired and fresh eyes need to look at it."

"Koko-Kun, when was the last time you went to sleep?"

"That's irrelevant, now what's your opinion on this spreadsheet?"

"No it's not irrelevant! If I'm to be your personal assistant, I have to care for you at some degree. It's obvious you haven't slept in ages. I will be right back!"

You walk out of his office to grab a blanket and anything for a pillow. You managed to get a blanket from your desk, since the previous assistant thought it was always cold, and a pillow out of a sweater you forgot to take home.

You walk back into the office with the supplies and turn off his work station.

"What the fuck ____!"

"You need sleep, now take this and go to bed!"

You put the blanket over his shoulders and the makeshift pillow on his desk. You grab a power cord from his computer to make sure he can't turn it on. And lastly you take the coffee and put it on your desk.

"This is not what personal assistant means _____." He mumbles with his face pressed against the pillow.

"I know, but you need sleep, I'll check in on you in a few to make sure you go to sleep." And you leave the room.

You sit down at your desk to check your computer. The usual 99+ next to emails. Great. You think, knowing you need to start sorting through it.

Every thirty minutes you got up, walked into his office to make sure he was asleep, and left. Around lunch time you went in to wake him up.

"Koko-Kun, it's 12:30, it's best if you woke up to eat lunch"

"Yea give me a minute" he mumbled half asleep.

You go to a sort of staff room and start preparing his lunch. Today was basic. It was his leftovers from a night he ate out. You just threw it in the microwave and called it a day. Once the microwave went off, you grabbed utensils and went into his office with his lunch.

"Good morning, how was the sleep?"

"Fantastic, but I'm still pissed off you made me go to bed."

"Stop being angry and eat your food while it's still hot." You say as you sit down in one of the chairs in his office. You start piecing together the power cord you took so he can resume his work.

"Once you finish that, pull up that work you wanted me to look at and look at it yourself first." You say sternly.

"You're starting to act like you're the boss around here."

"If the shoe fits" you say confidently.

"Sure we'll go with that."

"Koko-Kun, since it's lunch time, do I have to be professional?" You ask.

"No not necessarily, why?"

"Can I ask clarification on something you had said yesterday at the meeting?"

"If it's about the payro-"

"No, it's not related to the payroll changes. I'm talking about the whole 'its not wise to have attractive people alone outside' thing. Were you calling me attractive?" you ask, trying to keep your calm.

"Yea, what's your point? You are attractive if you are thinking I was pulling your leg on a compliment."

"Alright, thank you."

A few seconds pass, then Kokonoi pipes up.

"Can I ask a question then?"

"Sure go ahead"

"Why do you care so much for me?"

"Serious?"

"Serious."

"Because this job is my life. I lose this job, I lose my life. caring for you decreases my chance of loosing my job." You say, even though it was all improvised. A lie.

"I can tell you're lying. It's in your eyes."

"What do you mean?"

"You couldn't look at me during that answer, you were lying. Now, what's your real answer _____."

Kokonoi gets up from his chair, grabs another chair, and sits directly across from you. Now, less than 3 feet apart. He asks again.

"Why do you care so much for me?"

A/N hehe evil me cliff hanger. Anyways, as always thank you for reading!
