Tris' POV

Eric turns around to go, but for a split second, we lock eyes. He has a piercing in one ear and brown hair that is short at the sides and has a quiff on the top. As I observe the two black piercings above his right eyebrow, He smiles with his deep green eyes, so as not to show anyone else, but there is a deep longing in them. To other people, his eyes are cold and menacing, but to me, the are warm and inviting. I don't know what to say about this. What is going on? Despite this, I smile back with mine. We both awkwardly turn away, as everyone turns around to follow.

He leads us back down the hallway, and we turn left into another large room, but not as big as the pit. It is supported by columns and is full of beds.

"You will all be sleeping here for the next ten weeks" states Eric. Again he glances at me. Out of my peripheral vision I also see Peter glance at me. What does this mean?!

"Wait, all of us? Boys and girls? In the same room?" exclaims yet another Candor transfer.

"And your name is?" Eric inquires.

"Al" he replies.

"OK, Al. If you like this, you'll love the bathroom". As we follow Eric, I see that there is a tattoo on his neck, like straight tyre tracks. I also spot a long, maze-like tattoo running up his arm, with the dauntless manifesto in the middle.

He shows us into an open room. There are toilets with no cubicles, and the sinks are grimy. Even the showers are open. Right. First they try to kill us, and now they take away our privacy and dignity. Christina and I glance at each other, both thinking the same thing; is there anywhere else?

"you should feel right at home, Candor" Eric sneers. "everything out in the open"

I cant help but laugh in my head at that. He leaves us, ordering us to get changed.

Great. This is going to be interesting.

I pull my grey abnegation dress up, pulling up the black leather leggings straight away to prevent showing any skin. But it's too late and I fumble with them. Cursing under my breath again.

"Nice legs, stiff" Peter jeers.

That is the moment I feel degraded. I scowl at him.

I then proceed to take the top of the dress off, showing my grey bra, pulling the black dauntless vest top over immediately. But of course, I'm not that quick, and out of the corner of my eye, I see Peter watching me. It sends a shiver down my spine. What's his problem?

Eric's POV

What happened earlier? I was about to turn to lead everyone to the dorms, and Tris caught my eye. We stared into each other's eyes. She has wide hazel eyes. It feels like she is seeing right into my soul. I also saw Peter glance at her, muttering "Works for me". Dude, he's going down if he lays a finger on her.

Sorry if that sounds sappy but I don't give a shit anymore.

I can't disguise it any further.

She's beautiful, brave, smart, sexy and I have got to find some way of telling her how I feel. I don't think I can live without her by my side.

But what if she's into someone else? I mean, I saw Peter staring, but I don't think she's interested. BUT there are more guys than girls, and she's by far the most attractive

But what if the age difference bothers her? It certainly doesn't bother me. I'm 18, she's 16. Big deal.

But what if anyone finds out? She hasn't got any experience, being abnegation. They don't exactly recommend it, relationships at that age. But that's no excuse to use her.

Ugh, I can see that this is going to be hard.

Very hard.

Tris' POV

Once we've changed, we find our way to a large dining hall, filled with people eating ravenously.

As people go to greet their friends, Christina and I find that we have nowhere to sit. Eventually, we find a table. I have to sit next to Eric. Four comes up to him.

"Hey, aren't you meant to be sitting at the leaders table?" He asks, menacingly.

"Oh I'm sorry, Four. My mistake. May as well sit here cause I'm nearly finished" replies Eric.

Whoa. What's going on there? TENSIOOOOON!
