Chapter 13: Another Sky Battle

When we arrive, Ash was helping Melody up. "Thank goodness you're here." he said. He looks at Jace. "Is he..."
"He's good."
"Good. Now help me up!" Melody shouts.

Nathan came around soon after. "There you are." he said. "We can finish what we started after all of this is over."
"Yeah, like I'll marry the likes of you." I respond.
He charges, but pull out Grace, and he stops. "Cursed blade."
"What?...You know what, I don't care. It's still morning. I've been tossed around, and dealing with you." I get in position. "Now I'm going to show you what I'm capable of."

He tries to pull me into a vortex, but I backflipped over it. Cowering in fear, he retreats. Wuss. I thought. "What was that?!" said Melody. "He flew off! What a-" Ash stops her. "Let's just get out of here." Everyone nods to that. Jace let's me ride on his back. Ash and Melody are in his hands. We take flight back to Flamis.

Unfortunately, though he left, Nathan came back chasing us. "This guy can't take a hint." said Jace.
"I've been dealing with this for years." I add. "It's time I end it."
He turns to Ash and Melody. "What does she mean by that?"
"She's going to jump." they say in unison.

Jace's eyes widen, then, he turns back. I changed direction, and slowly begin to lift up. "Merlinda, are you sure you want to do this?" asks Ash.
"This?" I question. "This is nothing. No different than doing it with horses."
His eyes widen. "I don't know who you are anymore."
I wait until Nathan comes close enough. Then, I run towards Jace's tail. I jump off near the end. Nathan catches me.

"You're literally jumping into my arms." he said.
"I'm glad you think so." I smile.
I stabbed his hand using Grace. Then, swing to his back, where I hit it with the pommel of the sword. He began to lower himself. I get ready to jump off, but he quickly grabbed my leg with his good hand. "If I crash, I'm bringing you with me."

We were falling, now. I'm in his good hand, and he stares into my eyes with a crooked smile. "I'm sure you'll make a great wife...when dead." I squint my eyes. "I... am not...your prize!" My necklace glows a bright, golden light. It blinded Nathan, and freed me. I was able to jump off, and Jace caught me with his back. The light went away as I jumped. What was that. I wondered. Then, I remembered what my mother and Jace said. This necklace holds the power of light within.
