The year finished. I walk up to the balcony of the castle. I'm back in my navy blue dress. The doors were opened by the guards. A cheering crowd can be heard from outside. King Magnus and Jace were on the balcony, too. I bow to them, and they bowed back. I walk to the ledge, and raise my hand. The crowd calmed down.
"People of Edrin." I tell. "I promised to find you a new kingdom to live in. I have not forgotten. Today, I leave Flamis to continue both my search and journey. I know our new home is out there, and I will find it. You will all be living here, in the Flamis, for the time being. I will return when I find our kingdom. The real kingdom. Shinera." The crowd cheers as I wave, and exit.
Once I finish packing, I head down to the front doors. King Magnus meets me there. "Are you sure about leaving, princess?" he asks.
"Yes." I respond. "I have a promise to keep to my people, and a world to explore."
"Well, I can't stop a promise, can I."
I hug him. "Take care off them."
He hugs back. "I will. Goodbye...daughter."
I smile.
I meet with Ash and Melody at John's house. "You two have everything?" John's wife asks.
"Yes, ma'am." replied both Ash and Melody.
They see me. "Hey, Merlinda." said Melody.
"Hey, guys." I say. "Ready to go?"
"Yeah. Just wrapping up."
John comes out. "Alright. I packed enough bread to get you guys through a whole year."
"Awesome." I said.
"Hello, princess."
After saying our goodbyes, we take our horses and bags, and head to the entrance.
"Did you hear from your Romeo, Juliet?" asked Melody.
"Funny, and no." I respond. "I haven't seen him since this morning."
"Being sweet, until the day you leave. What a jerk. This is why I don't trust dragons."
"Let's just go." I say sadly.
I was hoping he would come and talk to me first, but I guess I was wrong.
Ride to the open plain area that we had a race in. Then, a big shadow crossed over us. It was dragon Jace. We had to keep our horses calm to prevent our separation again. He sat a black horse down in front of us. I was surprised the horse didn't run in fear after. He changed back to normal Jace. "Were you guys going to leave without me?" he asked.
"You jerk!" Melody shouted angrily. "You honestly think we're going to-"
"Let me handle this." I interrupt. "You two go ahead."
They went on, but stopped when they gave us enough space.
"Why did you wait until know to show up?" I ask him.
"I was packing."he replied. "I wanted to travel with you guys. Mostly you."
I blush a little. "Well, we could you a dragon in our group."
He smiles.
"So, you leaving?" Melody says.
"No, he's coming with us." I tell her.
"What?! This-"
"Now, stop. He's a prince, and you will treat him with respect. Got it?"
She sighs, then, nods.
"Now, what's our next location?"
"Well, Icerum (ice-rum) is closer here, than any other kingdoms." said Jace.
"He's right." Ash added.
We begin to move.
I talk with Jace in the back of the group. "You never told me the name of your horse." I said.
" His name is Blaze."
Ironic. I thought
"Hey...um..I was wondering."
"What?"
"You know...you are a beautiful girl...and I do want to marry you..."
"But."
"But, I feel it would be best to start small."
My eyes widen a little.
"Merlinda, will you be my girlfriend?"
"No."
"What?"
"I'm kidding. I'd love to be your girlfriend."
I kissed him on the cheek.
