Milo and I have spent the last two hours explaining everything to my family with the aid of Helmut. They were so confused at first but as we kept telling them the story they began to understand a bit more.

"So what your saying is," Carson says once we're done, "you can write any story and put yourself or others into it?"

"Yeah," Milo nods.

"Could you do one for me?" He grins.

"Depends," she grins back, "who do you wanna be paired with?"

"Steve Rogers," he says without hesitation.

"Bet," she laughs. (😉)

"Yes!" He pumps his fist in the air.

"Steve would like that," Helmut says, making me laugh.

Mom and Dad look at Carson, Dad's brow is raised and mom's face is just amused.

"Oh yeah by the way," he chuckles sheepishly, "that's what I wanted to tell you guys. I'm gay."

"I fucking knew it," I laugh.

"We did, too," dad adds in.

"You did?" Carson's eyes go wide.

"Sweatie, were your parents," mom pats his knee, "of course we knew."

"Shit," he laughs at himself, "I thought I was good at hiding it."

I look to Milo who's typing furiously at her phone with a grin.

"What ya doing, Mi?"

She looks at me and her grin widens as her eyes dart to Carson.

"Nothing."

She tilts her phone for me to see.

Could never leave out the big brother.

My jaw drops with a wide smile and a laugh leaves me.

"Oh yeah," she grins, "this is gonna be fun."

I giggle as I glance at Carson.

The night continues, we laugh, and joke around. Mom and dad get to know Helmut and congratulate us on the baby. Mom does some online shopping for baby stuff, gender neutral things since they want to be surprised too.

All in all we have a great time.

Somewhere around ten, the radio starts on its own.

"I bury the unseemly urges deep down in the ground with the roots, but it's all coming back to the surface. Maybe it's getting ready to bloom."

I recognize the song; Angry Too by Lola Blanc.

"And I don't wanna be a monster in the making, I don't wanna be more bitter than sweet. I donno how to be just standing by blankly not getting angry."

"That's new," Milo mutters.

"What is?" I look to her.

"It's never been a song like this."

"Cause another and another coming up out of the gutter
'Til I'm drowning in an ocean of entitled motherfuckers
And they're pushing all my buttons
But they never seem to wonder why
Another and another, ask each other."
