Heaven in Hiding [H.P.] ✓

First Year Bliss

She had held on tightly to the Malfoy heirs hand, him being nearly 2 years older than her and always ready to hurt anyone even looking at her wrong. They had grown up together. Their families had been rumoured to have drawn up a contract for her at birth.. however.. it had simply just so happened that her mother had been in Saint Mungo's with her running a fever beyond home treatments and around the same time Lucius Malfoys mother had come in with him to get him treated for the same thing. The two women had bonded quickly and so had the two then very young children.

"Stick with me always, alright?" "Yep! I won't leave your side!", the girl chirps, making the older boy smile ever so slightly. "Come on." He pushes past the other students, the Malfoy family butler taking their luggage to be packed onto the train while they simply hop on. "I'll introduce you to some friends.." "Okay."

Rodolphus Lestrange, Nicolai and Bertie Higgs and Arnie Carrow all look up at their most influential friend and the little.. extra he had brought. Lucius Malfoy settled in the compartment, shutting the door behind the two of them before taking a seat, leaving her to hurriedly hop onto his lap, eager to snuggle into her sort of older brother for comfort from the inquisitive stares. "And who might you be?", Rodolphus, kindest looking of the group, asks. "This is my honorary little sister Juniper Nevaeh Winters.", Lucius answers for her. They nod. "You're a first year, right?" Juniper nods, smiling lightly, though hiding a bit in Lucius's arms. "Yes." The older boys chuckle a bit. The younger blonde certainly was a pretty adorable girl.
"We'll take care of you. No worries. Even though we are second years, we'll just keep an eye on you.", Bertie Higgs tells her and Juniper smiles shyly. "Thank you."

They had left the train and the boys had dropped her off amongst the other first years, Lucius not forgetting to lift her chin up. "Malfoy pose, Winters attitude. I'll see you in Slytherin." Junipers lips pull up into an arrogant, yet condescending smile she had learned from him. "Where else?" The other boys watch the change in her with amusement and Lucius proudly pats her head. "You're right. Where else?" With that he leaves.
Moving with pride and confidence the girl hops into one of the boats.
"Uhm. Hi." She looks at the boy she was seated together with. "Michael Monteague.", he introduces himself. "Winters. Juniper Nevaeh Winters.", she returns the favour upon recognising a fellow pureblood. Lucius wouldn't like her speaking to someone with another blood status, though neither of them were truly interested in blood purity.. Lucius had made sure she knew at least to pretend.. it would shield her in a way few other things could. "Pleasure to meet you." She nods. "Slytherin?", he asks. "Where else?", she repeats her earlier words. The boy nods a bit awkward and Juniper swears inwardly she would apologize to him should they both be in the Slytherin common room at the end of that day.

Not allowing anyone to see her sweat as she is finally called upon for sorting Juniper takes a seat, concentrating hard on what she wanted. House Slytherin. Slytherin. Slytherin.

"SLYTHERIN!"

Relieved, but outwardly merely satisfied she walks over to where she had spotted Lucius and his friends clapping. Where Michael Monteague was already seated close. "You did well, sister dearest." "You expected less of me?" "I expect nothing but greatness.", Lucius responds and she can't help but smile, hiding it. With her blonde locks from all but him. And Lucius gently pats her cheek, nodding pridefully at her. Returning to her role Juniper eats, conversing mostly with Lucius and his friends who already had understood her act, doing the exact same. After dinner they head down to the common room and just before Michael Monteague can tap her shoulder for any further rather pretentious conversation Juniper drops her entire facade. "Salazar that is exhausting. I now know what all those times you forced me to stay in character for days were for. Don't those people learn not to stare at others? What an abominable lack of manners!! And that one Gryffindor girl.. Casper I believe.. stood on my foot multiple times because she apparently doesn't know that she can use the bathroom. No. She has to jump around and act like a fool. I think the damn girl broke my toes.", Juniper curses, making the Higgs brothers, Lestrange and her older brother light up into laughter, like most of the other Slytherins. "Sorry about the attitude. You can't be prepared enough when you Know you'll be sorted into a house everyone appears to hate. It really is nice to meet you Monteague." The boy had begun to smile. "Salazar be thanked. I thought I had introduced myself to an absolute bane to happiness." "Hey!!" Juniper pinches the boys side as he laughs. "What?! You know I am right!"

Lucius had taken it upon himself to introduce her to a few others, both girls and boys. However the most prominent most definitely would have to be Narcissa Black. Standing in awe before her Juniper slowly reaches out to gently poke her cheek. "What was that supposed to be?", Bellatrix Black, a second year like Lucius and Narcissas older sister, asks. "I had to make sure she was real. Salazar you are pretty. I'm jealous." At the blunt compliment the girl flushes bright red and the rest of the common room that heard lights up with laughter again. "And I am stale bread or what?", Bellatrix asks. "No. You are also pretty. I like your hair a lot. But.. two toned hair." "Yeah.. I get it.", Bellatrix admits, ruffling her hair lightly. "And about the curls.. I'll look for a spell for you." "You would?" "Slytherin loyalties, sweet cheeks.", Andromeda, the barely younger sister of Bellatrix Black chimes in, ruffling her hair. "You'll be very well spoiled and kept safe with us. All we ask in return is that you bunch will do the same for the younger Snakes after you. It's tradition." "Deal."
