John never really showed any emotions that could cause him trouble. He defaulted to arrogance and emotionless and let them take over his life- and ultimately his decisions. Perhaps thats why he could never fall in love? He didn't have it in him. But when he met you, little by little the hard exterior he had built up began to dissipate, melting away into fuzzy feelings, warm cheeks and butterflies. He didn't know if he was proud of it or not. But something about the way you smiled, the way the light lit up your hair, or the stars gave your eyes that soft illuminating glow. Or the way that no matter what, he could never let you go. It sure was new to him, and there were times he caught himself slipping up, but overall these feelings always made him feel whole again. Something his family had long taken away from him. You were like a missing piece to a puzzle, the glue that held him together. How could he not love you, confide in you and trust in you?
