First person pov:

She was gathering herbs, fruits, and vegetables while waiting for the boys to come back home. After a while she felt a strong pain in her abdomen. She was currently seven months pregnant and recieving large and strong kicks caused by her overactive baby.
"Oh, child, you must calm. This may hurt us both if you continue," she cooed at her belly. She was thinking about how lucky she is to be with the man she loves and to be with his child. She soon began to tire and went to rest within the small hut the three shared.

~Timeskip~

It was getting late and yet the boys weren't back yet. It was unusual for them to take this long after being out all day. She was starting to get worried and started to think up the worst scenarios she could imagine.
"Where are they? They're never this late. It's almost dark, " she exclaimed shakely. Just as she was about to move from her current position at the dining table. The eldest brother, Cain, entered the hut.
" Cain! Where have you been?!" The woman screeched.
" Just finishing plowing the fields," Cain replied cooly. The woman then noticed that his brother was not with him.
" Where is your brother," she questioned, afraid he might have gotten hurt.
"I have no clue where he might be, perhaps he is still with the flock or got distracted," he spouted quickly as though he had been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
"What if he has been hurt," she was panicking now.
"He'll be fine. He can protect and care for himself. Besides, we don't know if he's making his way back here now until we see him and leaving is not a good idea. What if he is taking a different route," Cain lied smoothly, only he, his brother and the Lord knowing what happened while away.

~Later that night~

As the two were sleeping and waiting for the younger male to return, the woman startled awake by a low growling outside. Terrified, she left the comfort of the hut they lived in and peered about the edge of the woods nearby wondering if a pack of wolves were close. A slow, chilling breeze then blew causing her to shiver and creating an unsettling atmosphere surrounding the area.
*Something isn't right, I can feel it,* she thought, unaware of the eyes watching every move made. The figure at the edge of the forest was thankful that the hut had no windows at the back as their prey moved in that direction.
"Darling, are you there? Do you need help," the woman called out quietly as to not disturb the ambiance of the silent night. Soon, rustling came from the foliage frightening her as she stepped closer, only for the younger brother to emerge.
"Oh, there you are. Where have you been? I was starting to think you had been hurt or worse," sighed the woman just to realize that he was standing far too still and ridgedly.
"Able," she called his name, confused as to what might have caused this reaction. He then took an uneasy step towards the vulnerable woman that stared in shock at the blade he wielded within his iron grip. Then, like snake lashing out at its prey, he lunged.
