BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! For the first time in a long time, i look up from my empty King Size bed only to see 9:02 am in bright green letter on my alarm clock. I have to be at the stadium at 10 so i get out of the bed and turn on the shower. steam rises from the top of the shower making the bathroom foggy and moist. the water runs through my thick hair and over the rest of my body, the heat eventually makes me feel sick and get out of the shower. walking over to the mirror, i say to myself (out loud), "Not bad, Tyler. 32 years old and don't look a day over 20. Jet black hair, crystal blue eyes, dimples, and sun kissed skin." I walk into my walk-in closet and decide on today's outfit. I chose a black short sleeves polo, my favorite ripped faded blue jeans, and size 10 grey Sperrys. Once I gelled my hair back I lock the door of my penthouse apartment and head towards the car. I hit the button to open the automatic doors on my red Gumpert Apollo sports car. The clock on my dash reads 9:29, just enough time to get to starbucks. As I drive my car the five miles to starbucks I watch the sides of the roads, and under the bridges and see the homeless families hungry and not knowing where their next meal will come from... Oh well; make better choices I want to tell them! At starbucks I get my usual venti Carmel macchiato over ice with whipped cream. I slowly pull away from the drive thru window and drive to work by now it 9:45 and I should arrive at work around 9:55 or 9:56. In that short 10/11 minute car ride to the stadium 3 songs came on the radio. Heroes, centuries, fourfive seconds; sometimes I wish that my day wasn't such a routine I reaped daily...everyone wants a change Ya know? As I pulled into Wrigley stadiums 'manager' parking space at precisely 9:55 and 30 seconds till 9:56 I rolled my eyes at my own perfectness! My assistant Jake was waiting for me already with a stack of papers. Jake was wearing khakis, a white button down, and church shoes; Jake was your typical nerd suck up but I liked him anyway. "Good morning, boss, Atlanta called." He said sounding amused {sarcastically}
"Who do they want?" I already knew because Atlanta always called for a trade.
Jake said, "Andrelton Simmons for John Kripe and Arron Kale..."
"Done! Get 'em on the phone!" I commanded. Kripe and Kale were good out fielders but Andrelton is better! I took the stack of papers from Jakes hand and went to my office. When I sat down at my desk I was kidnapped by the paperwork. The time just flew by! Jake brought in my usual late lunch around 4:15. I put down the 6th pen I had used that day and turned to my usual Applebee's salad. When I was done, I answered phone call after phone call, and went home. My car ride was still boring! The same three songs on the radio, the same car, the same roads, ALL THE SAME ALL THE TIME! Opening my apartment door felt like an escape from the world itself, then the door bell rang like it normally did as soon as I always got home EVERYDAY. I opened the door expecting the same people I saw everyday at this time; Tony (my best friend), or Dazi my girlfriend in Chicago. I guess you could call a guy with a girlfriend in pretty much every state a player but I don't like labels. Man do I need a change! Instead before me stood a little girl about 9 wearing bright pink tights, a denim skirt, and a pink and cream Polk a dot shirt. I started to ask if she was lost,and then I noticed her straight jet black hair, tan skin, dimples, and green eyes. I've seen those green eyes before, memories flood before me. "Get out!" She screamed at me that cold winter night at 1 am after the party. I thought I'd never see her again; never see those unforgettably beautiful green eyes, but here they were standing in front of me.
"Hanna..." I barley whispered.
"Actually Hanna is my mom, I'm Sophie...your daughter."***********************************
