"Are you ok?" A nurse asked me. I was currently sitting in an ambulance, a shock blanket around my back. I nodded. I looked to my left and noticed the news reporters around the area, filming the aftermath of the incident.
The nurse kept checking up on me, even though I felt fine and just wanted to go home.
Bakugo was in the second ambulance that was sent over. I could see him from where he was sitting but he refused to look at me. I could tell I was going to get a new burn mark later.
"Can I go home now? I feel completely fine and I have a bunch of homework I need to catch up on," I asked the nurse. She sighed. "Yeah sure, I mean there's nothing really wrong with you," she replied, putting everything back into her handheld medical bag.
I nodded my thanks to her and grabbed my backpack.
I was about to leave the area when a swarm of news reporters suddenly appeared, shoving mics, cameras, and questions at me.
"How old are you?"
"What's your name?"
"What's your relationship with the victim?"
"Why did you rush into the fray so suddenly?"
"What's your quirk?"
I started feeling crowded and overwhelmed.
"Um, no comment."
More questions were getting thrown from every direction as more reporters suffocated my personal space.
"Hey! Move away from the minor or I'll call each and every one of your agencies and get you all fired!" A voice came from somewhere behind me. The reporters started moving away and in came a B lister hero named Professor Claw. Quirk: bone claw. Incredibly sharp retractable claws made of bone. Number 42nd in the hero rankings. I started to feel a little less panicky as everyone backed away and as the hero took care of everything.
"Are you alright young man?" He asked, putting his hand on my shoulder. I nodded, "Yeah, just a bruise and a scratch or two. Nothing I haven't dealt with before," I told him.
"That's good, I'm glad you're ok, but I do have to say that what you did out there was incredibly risky," he said to me. "You could have gotten severely hurt, or worse, killed. You should have just waited for a pro hero to come and handle the situation," he finished.
I felt slightly ashamed, but mostly angered. I did see pro heroes in the crowd of people just watching, standing and doing nothing. They were there. They could have helped. And knowing this as I faced another pro hero who was telling me I should have waited, it made me a tad peeved.
If I had waited, Kacchan could have died. If I had waited, like everyone else did, who knows what could have happened.
I didn't say any of this though, instead I nodded my head and pretended to agree with all that he said, promising not to do any of it again.
When he finally let me go, I walked at a fast pace home, hoping not to get stopped along the way. Sadly that couldn't happen to me because I have the worst luck in the history of mankind.
"Excuse me, young man," a scrawny looking, old man tried to approach me.
"Sorry, I don't have any money on me, and I really am in a rush," I told him. He looked a little dejected at that but was persistent.
"I just need a moment of your time young man."
"No, I do not want to talk about our lord and saviour Jesus Christ, nor do I want to extend my car's warranty," I said, trying to deter him.
