When Clint and Natasha came in without Katherine his heart sank into his stomach until they told the room she was putting her things away in her room. Steve gave him a smirk at the dopey smile he was sure he had on his face. Shaking his head he got up and walked over to the kitchen for something to drink. He was relieved that she'd changed her mind because besides Steve Katherine was one of the only people who didn't treat him like Winter. To her he was just another asshole she had to deal with and while that doesn't sound like anything to aspire to with Kat it was. It meant he was just another Joe Schmo to her, not a killer.

Taking a sip of his water he glances over to the room that was slowly filling up with everyone now that they knew Loki was here. The Maximoff's, Vision, Rhodey, Bruce and Sam all made themselves comfortable in the large living room while Fury waited for Katherine to come down. He didn't have long to wait because a few minutes later she and Mathew appeared by the kitchen counter near where Bucky stood with a wide smile for her. "Glad to see you came back, doll. Matt, how are you doing?"

She glares daggers at him at the nickname that he knows she secretly liked while her brother comes over to shake his hand. "I'm doing really good, man. How are you? Been going to those meetings I told you about?" Bucky sees Katherine suddenly take an interest in their conversation, but doesn't say anything.

Swallowing roughly he nodded, flicking his gaze from her back to the man seated before him. "Yeah, one or two. Thanks for recommending them. They've actually helped a bit." Mathew had suggested that Bucky go to a support group for people who've experienced major trauma. Even going so far as to find him a group that was geared more towards people who've been kidnapped and assaulted. Granted he hadn't been assaulted the way some of them had but the kidnapping and brainwashing had struck a chord with him.

"Good, that's good. I'm glad they are helping. Still going to therapy?" He nods again. That was a condition of his pardon, but Mathew didn't need to know that. The government wanted to make sure that he was still him and not the Winter Soldier anymore. At first he hated it, but as time went on Dr Kent had really begun to help him get through alot of the worst of it.

Their conversation is interrupted by Fury who came over to talk to Katherine. The older man wasn't pleased by any of the events that had transpired in the last hour and a half and he made it known by the expression on his face. Normally his face was apathetically stoic, but right now his jaw was clenched and his one good eye was narrowed. Before he could open his mouth Katherine was already speaking.

"Nick, before you say anything I'm going to attempt to apologize. If you don't want me here after that then no skin off my back." His eye squinted when she called him by his first name, but he let it slide.

Glancing over at Mathew sat in his wheelchair he let out a breath. "As long as Loki accepts then you can stay otherwise you'll be relocated to the new Avengers facility until the move and then you'll come back here." She looks up at the older man with shock on her face. "What, you thought we'd kick you off for good? I'm not gonna lose an asset like you because you had a bit of a tantrum."

"See I told you. Now go be the bigger man. I've got faith in you Kit Kat." Mathew grins up at his sister who scowls at him. It only makes the man smile wider and shoo her towards the god who was still sitting in the living room watching them with avid interest. Turning to look up at Bucky he tilts his head. "You should probably go with just in case. She could use the back up."

Nodding he quickly follows her catching up in a few strides. Slinging his arm around her shoulders has her pausing for a moment. "What are you doing Barnes?"

"Matt sent me as back up." She scoffs up at him. God she was so tiny and adorable. "I don't need a babysitter when I'm surrounded by the whole team." She tells him, gesturing around the crowded room.
