DAY BY DAY, Kadence slowly distanced herself from her old friends. They talked less, texted less. It was an intentional retraction as Kadence began to spend more time with Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung. She had at least one class with each other them and on top of that, there was cheerleading practice.

The boys were nice to her. They didn't question her when she joined them for lunch and actively tried to bring her into their conversations. Such as the time when they were passionately arguing over who was the most handsome out of the three of them. They all looked to her to be the final judge among them. The way they playfully argued made her smile. It wasn't passive-aggressive or hostile. Nothing more than some friendly fun.

"Jungkook, I like him the most." To her answer, Taehyung scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest with a pout. "This isn't about who you like most. It's about who you would sleep with but not in that way-." Jungkook pushed Taehyung's cheek, turning his head away. A wide, victorious grin spread across his lips, dimpled and bunny-like. The famous bunny smile he was known for. "No, no, she said what she said. But we all know that Captain is the best looking of all of us."

She was a part of their little circle of friends, a genuine friendship.

But, of course, that didn't magically fix her eating disorder, nor did that immediately make her feel comfortable in her own skin. Kadence drowned himself in large, baggy clothing. She styled it to make herself look good, but it was meant to make her feel better about herself. Her body wasn't on display. It made her feel better to know that people couldn't see her.

Her eating habits weren't much better either. Don't think that she isn't trying. Kadence hadn't realized how hard it would be to just...eat. A basic function of life, she couldn't do because she had trained herself to hate it. The most she would eat was a small bowl of Cheerios each morning before school.

Still, she wanted to keep her disorder under wraps and of course, Jimin respected that. He was in no place to put her business out there unless she was on the cusp of death. It may benefit her to tell her mother, but Kadence already knew that would happen if she did. Her mother would either tell her to "just eat" or she would actively blame herself for Kadence feeling the way she does. It was one or the other, no in-between. She'd rather avoid that in its entirety.

And in the moments she felt overwhelmed, Kadence found herself wandering over to Jimin's park, which actually isn't too far from her house. There was never anyone there, like it only manifested into existence for those who needed it most.

Jimin was right, there was a sense of comfort that came with the place. It was unexplainable. Kadence liked to think it was because she associated it with Jimin, who was comfort wrapped up into one sweet person. This was the place they could talk about anything. Kadence would share her struggles and insecurities, all the irrational thoughts she had and Jimin would simply listen, like he wanted to reassure her, but he didn't know how.
