Chapter 4-What Did I Miss?

She ran.Thankful that she was far away from the two,she was also scared to what happened to Knuckles the echidna.When she was back at the safe house she changed into a new dress but now her usual attire was ripped at the ends and blotched with brown mud stains.Finally,when she thought she was safe,Amy stopped running.Her heart was beating in her ears,the only sound she heard was her panting.

Amy closed her eyes and started walking slowly,exhausted.As her mind wondered she didn't realize that her foot hit something until she fell.Landing on something soft,she knew she had landed on someone.

"Tails!"she yelled in fear and relief.

The two tailed fox was lying lifelessly on the ground.He looked beaten and bruised,with chunks of fur missing from his body.Amy felt a pang of sadness hit her right in the heart.She tried her best to carry the fox but he was getting bigger and harder to carry.
Amy stumbled back and forth,dragging the fox.

"Growing so fast,"she grunted.

The sound of growling hit her ears so she started to panic.Frantically looking around,she discovered a cave just a few few feet away and very hard to notice.So with all her energy,she dragged him toward it.When Amy reached the cave she put Tails down and carefully pushed him in along with herself.Fortunately the cave was bigger than it looked and gave herself and Tails more room.

It was dark,but no one seemed to be occupying it except for her and Tails.With a sigh of relief she rested Tails against a rock and looked around for things to make a fire.

"Sonic taught me...but I think I forgot...argh curse his gorgeous face..."she mumbled to herself.

Amy began to gather rocks,leaves,and pieces of branches.She then slammed a rock against the cave wall,creating sparks.Just as planned,the sparks landed on the pile of leaves and branches.She then blew quickly causing a fire to burst up close to her face.Even though she fell back Amy was ok.Proud of herself for remembering,she smiled.But the thought of Tails flooded back to her.

She dragged him closer to the fire and dusted off the mud and dirt from his fur.It was getting late and it started raining again.The thunder roared which caused Amy to flinch numerous times.Even if she felt safe,the feeling of worry was eating her alive.Sonic and Knuckles were still out there,with that imposter.Poor Tails,beaten up like this.Amy gave him a little hug,he was still small.He felt small in her arms even if he weighed a ton.

Many times she wanted to go out and look for the others.But then she remembered Tails.She couldn't leave him here,especially in his condition.Amy would just have to wait there until he woke up.Just as she starting to doze off,a sound made her ears prick up.It was coming from the entrance.She stood and let Tail's head fall onto the ground.Standing in front of him,she got ready to attack even if she was slightly afraid.

A shadow took place on the cave wall,coming toward Amy and Tails.She began to growl.

"Back off!"she yelled warningly.

"Relax Pinkie it's me."

Amy held back a gasp.There was only one person who called her that.

"Rouge?"

The white bat herself emerged from the entrance and stood up,having to crawl in.She dusted the dirt from her usual attire and curved in her wings.Hands on her hips,her fur was soaked,her suit clung to her body,and her ears drooped down.Her eyes were missing its usual make up and her lips were covered in smudged lipgloss.

"Stupid rain,washed my make up away and now I'm soaked,"Rouge growled.

Amy,thankful to be dry,crossed her arms.
