Prologue

Puelli Magi Madoka Magica.

We all think of it as just another regular anime to watch. Whether it's the magical girl genre or its dark and surreal themes, almost everyone who has watched likes something about it. There are overall many, many things that you may like about the anime itself. It could be the irregular approach to the magical girl sub-genre, the several lovable (and sometimes huggable) characters, or the witch designs and concepts.

Of course, as we all know, anime is nothing more than animations made with paper and ink. While live-action adaptations of movies, merchandise, and cosplays of anime do exist, they are the closest thing there is to having anime brought to life. But what if...all that was to change? What if...you ended up in an anime that you liked? What would you do? These questions are about to be answered by you, (Y/n).

It's a lazy afternoon on a Friday, and you just came back from school. You are ready to spend the weekend unwinding and chatting with your friends and acquaintances on Discord. Your friends and family would often describe you as a laid-back and chill person, and pleasant to be around. You're not very good at starting up conversations, but nobody blames you. You rarely show your emotions and are usually stone-faced. Despite this, however, you are a very friendly person overall and many would enjoy your company.

Other than this, you are also a hardcore fan of Puelli Magi Madoka Magica, whether it's the cute design of the protagonists that you might have a crush on, the overlapping themes of magical girls and dark fantasy, or the concept of the witches and familiars, as well as the labyrinths. You keep it to yourself, though, because you are self-conscious about others judging you on what you like, as well as being a goat about the series (basically being extremely knowledgable about it).

 You still had a lot of time to kill before the day ends, and you decide to rewatch the series for the 6th time. The first episode started up like always. Madoka was running through Walpurgisnacht's labyrinth, seemingly looking lost. When she goes outside, she sees a ruined city as well as the witch herself in the air. Homura is fighting off the witch, and then it all turns out to be a dream. Thus starts off the anime series, as usual.

After about re-watching four episodes, you see that it is already 9:00 PM and you should be asleep. Before you do, though, you decide to go on Quotev and look for any quizzes on Madoka Magica. Sure enough, you find one on Kyoko Sakura, your favorite character and anime crush (if you have a different one, that's totally fine). After submitting your selected answers, your result is that you would make her interested in you. You are satisfied with your choice as you tuck yourself in.

You slowly close your eyes as you drift off to sleep.

Little did you realize, that it would be the last sleep you would have in the real world.
