CHAPTER NINE, PART TWO.

Cassie had noticed glenn's eyes lurking on the country girl on the horse, and the way in which he was checking her out.

"you're in love with a country girrrllll!" cassie teased, nudging glenn on his side as they made their way back to the highway. He and cassie had been sent to alert dale and t-dog at the highway about the incident with carl and the migration to the farm. "love is a..strong word," he answered, his cheeks flushing a faint blush pink "i got my eyes on somebody else." he mumbled.

"did you say something?" she smirked, "you're as pink as a peach princess." she added, before picking her pace up and walking faster to the highway.
"i am not a princess...nevermind, not even worth it dude..you're gonna let a twelve year old bully you?" glenn rolled his eyes and began to slowly jog in attempts to catch up with the girl.

"amy, you got any of those brookie bars you had on you earlier?" tammy whispered, as they trod through the long field of grass.
"maybe, i'll check my pockets." amy replied, in a soft and low tone, her voice sounded dry from the lack of water/hydration the group had been faced with.
she scuffled forges through her pockets, the sound of empty rappers is the only audible noise throughout the group, everbody else was quiet.
"nah, sorry..im all out." she told, with a shy shrug, her central vision meets the ground as she awkwardly jaunts with the others.
"darn, its okay." tammy muttered.

"i think we made it.." tammy sighed in relief, it had felt like they had been walking through an endless field for ages, she could feel the irritant affect of the long grass on her legs as they were reallyyy itching after their long hike. the others nodded at a slow pace..."why are you all looking at me?" tammy asked, she had noticed that carol was shyly nodding to the door of the farm the others nodding with her.

with an irritated eye roll and a squint of her eyes, she awkwardly made her way to the door, she hadn't realised the petite blonde girl waiting beside the door at the porch.
"you're ricks friends right?" she questioned, her voice resulting in tammy visibly jumping out of relex.
"holy shii!," tammy started, but quickly cut herself off when she could feel carols eyes burning into the back of her skull.
the blonde giggled, "didn't mean to frighten' ya..you met my sister earlier, i'm beth." beth introduced herself, slightly embarassed she had scared the poor girl.
tammy held her hand out and chuckled, "uh..yeah, i'm tammy, nice to meet you..hows the kid?" tammy spoke, giving her a shy handshake, before glancing behind her at the door.

"Uhhh-"

"Tammy.." Lori interrupted beths answer as she came through the door, tammy bit the inside of her cheek, "he alive?" she asked.

"barely..shanes heading out with one of theirs to grab what they need to try and save him so.." lori muttered, "im gonna take a walk..i need some fresh air." she added, before stepping aside from tammy and the others and making her way down the porch steps. Tammy hesitantly shifted her weight to turn around and jaunted pacefully to catch up to the wrecked mother.

"i'll head out with them, make sure everything goes alright, m'sorry about carl, he's strong, he'll be alright." tammy spoke, with a small shrug, lori's reaction and feelings were unclear, but she gave a slow nod, "thank you, go inside you must be hungry..." lori answered, as tammy fastly nodded and turn her feet to walk back to the house, "..tammy," she added, earning a clamorous 'hm?' from the disheveled and tired looking teen.
"thank you for caring, just know i'd do the same for you and your sister if you were ever in danger, i promise that to you." Lori told, quickly blinking the tears that were close to flooding her eyes.

"oh..thank you, I got your back too..you gonna be okay by yourself?" Tammy asked, her head slightly tilting questioningly.

"..yeah, I'll be good, now go eat before you starve!" lori poked, earning a fry and throaty chuckle from the girl in front of her, "alright, alright..see you before I head off?" Tammy replied, earning a short nod from Lori.

"You will."
