"Goodnight darling."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I open my eyes, remembering what happened yesterday. "He's so..... horrible. But yet I can't feel any fear." I think to myself, looking over at Habit's sleeping form. "He's a mass murdering, horrible demon... why don't I feel hate?" I sigh, a single, silent shudder of fear and... mistrust wrack my body.  I will have to be wary of him, as Evan said. I heard what Habit is capable of, he told me himself. I carefully sit up and try not to wake him. I have a feeling he isn't one to like being woken up before he wants to. This is considerably hard as we fell asleep on the couch.
I manage to get off the couch without waking Habit, had a few close calls though. I walk to the kitchen and scrounge for things to make for breakfast. I decide on making cinnamon sugar oatmeal with buttered toast on the side. "Do demons like oatmeal?" I wonder as I heat the water. "Probably, he's in a human body." I conclude.
While I'm cooking, I feel arms wrap around me. "Good morning sleepyhead." I say, getting a groggy grumble in response. I laugh and turn slightly to look at him. His shaggy hair is a mess, eyes almost closed. I kiss the edge of his lips and he perks up a bit. "Hmmm hello." He mumbled, his morning voice more gravely and deep than usual, it's definitely very appealing to me. "I made oatmeal, would you mind buttering the toast?" I ask. He smirks and replies, "Yeah, I'll butter your toast." I smile and roll my eyes.
We are sitting down eating, when Habit tells me his plan for the day. "Okay so, before you can meet Vinny, I've got to get him warmed up, get him... ready for what I have planned. Do you want to come help me get my things ready?" I nod, wondering exactly what we will be doing. "Good, good. You mind working the camera again?" He asks. I nod, then pause. "Why do you record everything? Are you making a movie or something?" I ask. Habit smiles and laughs, "Sort of... it's more of a force of... habit now." We break out into laughter over his pun.
We put our dishes in the sink, getting ready to get going. I notice the dishes are starting to pile up, I'll have to do them after we are done. I grab the camera where I left it in my coat pocket. "Okay Rabbit, let's get goin." Habit says, offering his arm again. I take it, turning on the camera as we go. We appear in a different room, this one with a table, covered in orderly knives, an axe, handcuffs and purple duck tape. It seems like Habit has gathered all his best weaponry. I shudder, I don't want to know how many people they have touched.
"Okay, so. Im going to need..." Habit trails off. He plucks a nice hunting knife and a machete off the table. He looks back at the table, then around the floor and grabs a hatchet from the floor where it was discarded. He wipes what looks like dried blood off the blade of the knife, I shiver. He glances up at me, noticing my movement. I see his mouth form a smile, a knowing look in his eyes. "Afraid, Rabbit?" He asks. I feel my heart beat quicken at his voice. "...yes. But I know that's not for me. Not yet anyway." I say, my muscles urging me to stay as still as possible. I feel like prey, like a little rabbit under the wolf's gaze. I involuntarily shudder, somehow this is both frightening and very very hot. I see Habit's smile grow slightly, then he turns his attention back to the table. He grabs two more knives, and a machete with the handle covered in purple duck tape. He brands down and picks up a gun that was half hidden under random discarded items on the floor. It looks like a sawed off shotgun, all black. He puts this second round of items on his belt, the knives getting sheaths that attach to belt loops, the machete getting a hip holder of its own. The gun, slung across Habits back complete him. He grabs a few shells and stuffs them in his pockets.
"Grab that paper, and the pen next to it." He says, pointing them. I hand the items over and watch as he scribbles a note,
"VIN-
KILL ME BEFORE I KILL YOU"
He draws a derpy little face below the message. Almost taunting and tearing the meaning from the words. I shudder, now knowing what Habit is going to do. The wolf will begin his hunt.
"I want you to stay here, my little Rabbit. I don't want anything... unfortunate to happen to you, kay?" He says, looking up at me as though he isn't about to go hunt someone he called a "friend" earlier. I sigh, it's probably for the best I don't see Habit in action, I don't think I could handle it on my conscience. I nod, fear and nerves stirring within me. "Just... be careful. I know you don't need my worry, but seeing what I know it's not you I'm worried for." I conclude, I really home Vince makes it out alive, Habit did say I was supposed to meet him, formally at least. Habit gives me his typical cocky smirk and raises his arms, looking about as innocent as a great white shark in bloody water. I take a step forward and go to plant a light kiss on his cheek, he turns into it and takes the kiss on his lips, smirk even wider when I pull back. "Thank you for the good luck charm, Y/N. I'll leave you here, in the meantime, which... might be a while, would you mind getting some food made? There should be something for lunch in the kitchen. Sound alright?" My eyes narrow, that must mean he will be gone for a while. "I'm sure it won't take long, I'll find something to entertain myself in the meantime." I say, trying to hide my suspicion. Habit laughs then gets frighteningly serious. "Okay, just stay out of this room and the basement. Understand?" He looks me dead in the eyes, face no longer smirking. I shiver again, I can feel the raw power coming from him, it's something I know I shouldn't mess with. I nod, speech escaping me. He nods back at me and seems to jump right back into his happy go lucky mood again. He turns and grabs a foldable table, looks like a little end table, or the kind people would eat off of in front of the TV. He folds it and sets it by the door. "Would you mind just, stepping out of the room for a sec, I need to go grab that box for you." He says, opening the door for me.
I step out of the room and lean against the wall opposite the door. Habit shuts the door and I hear the lock click. I sigh and think, "I know I should be getting out of here as fast as I fucking can, but I have no idea where I am or how far away I am from my apartment." I can hear shuffling and what sounds like dragging from inside the room. My stomach drops, I really hope that's not a body or something. I hear a door close inside the room, must have been one behind me I don't notice before. The lock clicks open and the door soon follows. Habit holds it open, I walk in to see the room a little cleaner, things pushed against the door in the corner. "Okay, well. I'll be off. You can chill in the living room, the TV and Xbox works. Got it? And when your done with that you can help yourself to whatever snacks you can find, you can just leave your camera on the table in the living room as well." Habit slips into a voice I can only describe as 'knowing father' "Don't make a huge mess, don't have a party, oh and don't mind the little... dog thing... in the basement. They won't bother you as long as your mine. Okay, have fun!" He gathers his things, then motions to the door. I open the door, walk out and watch as he closes the door behind me and locks it again. I can almost feel his presence in the room fade out. I huff a sigh and begin trudging down the stairs.
