Wren stands in between Vi and Ekko as they watch Vander and Sevika argue over whether they should fight or not. Wren watches confused as Vander backs down from the fight. He never backs down. She looks down at Ekko who keeps looking uncomfortable. He hasn't talked yet about what he overheard at Benzo's when the enforcer came.
"Why isn't he doing anything?" Claggor asks.
"We've kicked the enforcers butts before just the four of us. Imagine what we could do with all of the Lanes!" Powder says, jumping up at the idea of fighting.
Mylo snorts, "Jeez. Even Powder wants to fight," Mylo says.
"So why aren't we?" Vi asks. She turns away but stops when she looks at Wren whose eyes are still trained on Ekko. Vi furrows her eyebrows and watch as Ekko twitches under the two girls gazes, "Ekko, spill it," Ekko looks up at Wren who only raises an eyebrow back, also wanting to know what he knows.
"Okay," Ekko sighs, "Well, um, Vander's got a deal with the enforcers," Wren furrows.
"What type of deal, Ekko?" Wren asks. Ekko just shrinks back and Vi's eyes harden at the news.

Wren sits in the basement along with Claggor, Vi, , Ekko and Powder. Enforcers are still walking the streets of the Lane, so the kids are still stuck in hiding. Wren's leaning up against Vi's side, twirling her dagger in her fingers. Vi can't help but watch her hands as she twirls the dagger. Wren stops and looks over at Powder and Ekko, who are sitting on Powder's bed as she shows him one of her bombs. Wren smiles at them, nudging Vi to look over at them. Vi shakes her head slightly, turning it to the two kids with a small smile.
Wren leans her head so it's closer to the crook of Vi's neck. Vi stiffens but loosens up after a few minutes. Hesitantly, Vi leans her head down so it's resting on top of Wren's. The duo are interrupted when they hear the sound of a toy monkey banging- Vander's signal for the kids to hide. Wren jumps up and follows the group up to the ceiling to hide from the enforcers.
Wren sucks in a breath when an enforcer walks into the room and surveys it. Wren's breath stops when she sees Powder start to slip from the pole she is hanging onto. She looks over at Vi who watches Powder with a worried look. Slowly, Wren moves a bit closer to Powder, trying to stay silent to keep the enforcers attention away. Right before Powder is about to slip, Wren reaches out and grabs her. She keeps in a grunt as her eyes squint at the new weight she has to hold. Wren looks up and the enforcer finally closes the door. Wren sighs, letting go of Powder as they both fall.
Wren lets out a small sigh as Powder comes over to give her a hug, "You're okay," Wren whispers to her. She looks up at Vi, who nods at her and thanks her for catching Powder. After a few minutes, Vander comes into the room.
"You guys alright?"
"No we are not alright!" Vi shouts, "They almost saw Powder! If it wasn't for Wren catching her, they could have taken her. Could have taken both of them!"
"No one is taking any of you. I won't let that happen," Vander says. Ekko comes up to Wren and hugs her. Wren wraps her arm around Ekko as she keeps her eyes trained between Vander and Vi.
"It's already happening!" Vi exclaims. Frustration written all over her face, "You heard them! They won't stop until they find us. It's time we fight back!" Vi slams her fist into the metal near Vander. Wren jumps slightly at the noise. Concern takes over her since both an angry Vi and Vander isn't good, "And if you won't, then I will," Vi finishes.
Vander sighs, "I've heard of this type of talk before," He looks at the group of kids before looking back at Vi, "Come on," He says, walking out of the room. Vi doesn't look back as she follows him out the door.

Wren stays with Powder and Ekko at the Last Drop. Powder is on her bed working on one of her newest bombs. Wren sits on the floor below her, leaning her head against the bed as Ekko sits next to her and tries to help. Wren turns her head when the door opens and Vi walks in, finally back from her talk with Vander. Wren gives her a small smile, frowning slightly when Vi doesn't return it.
"Vi, where have you been?" Mylo asks.
"Rumour has it the Lanes are gonna fight," Claggor adds on.
Vi walks over and sits on Powders bed, "Look! I made them for the enforcers. Ekko helped me with this one," Powder says excitedly, "These are smoke bombs and these two are filled with nails,"
"Me too," Vi says, moving closer to Powder. She still avoids Wren's gaze, making her frown. Vi puts a caring hand on Powders cheek, caressing it lightly making Powder smile. Powder looks down at her lap when she recognizes the bunny on the wire Vi was talking about, "You know, Powder, what makes you different makes you strong. Always remember that," Vi says. She gets up and starts to walk away. Wren looks at Powder whose gaze drops and she hugs the stuffed bunny.
Wren gets up and follows Vi out of the Last Drop, "Vi! Vi!" She shouts. Vi doesn't turn around fully, but stops for Wren, "Please don't do this," Wren says. Vi turns and looks at her, still avoiding her gaze.
"I have to," Vi whispers.
"I-I'll come with you,"
"No," Vi says, "The group needs you. Ekko needs you... Powder will need you," Wren looks down.
"Then I'll take your place,"
"No," Vi says, "You won't," Wren jumps into Vi's arms. Her face sitting in the crook of Vi's neck. Vi slowly wraps her arms around Wren, squeezing her eyes tight as she tries to keep this memory planted in her brain. She'll need it where she's going. Wren slowly lets go and looks at Vi.
"I can't make you change your mind?" Wren asks. Vi shakes her head.
"No, cupcake. You can't," Wren sighs as she grabs Vi's wrapped up hand. With a small burst of confidence, Vi leans in and gives Wren a kiss on the corner of her lips. She wants to kiss her directly, but even the prospect of possibly never seeing her again can't take away her fear of rejection. Wren doesn't say anything else. There's too much she wants to say. Vi steps away, turning away. When she's out of sight, Wren finally breaks.
"Stupid!" She whispers to herself, "You should have done more," She whispers.
Good thing this isn't the last time she will see her. However, this doesn't mean everything is okay.
