stuff happens

Chapter 2> Is this actually happening?

When I walk in the front door of my house I can still feel the sogginess of my clothes. I take my shoes off and run down the hall, I get in my room and start pealing of my clothes one by one. I shove them into my laundry basket and head for my shower. After I've cleaned myself off, I go to pick up my phone when I see that I have a missed call from Jamie.
As I listen to the voice message, she isn't making very much sense but what I can get from it is a few words and then her screaming with excitement. The only words I can get out of the message are
Kai...Tanner...broke....*screaming*
"what the hell?" I say to myself
I get dressed as fast as I can and head out the door down the street to Jamie's house.

When I get to the front of her older, rustic looking town house, I pear in the window and ring the door bell...no one answers. I repeat those two things for maybe three minutes until I give up.
Then just as I turn around I see Tanner walking down the street.
"what is he doing over here?" He lives a whole two neighbourhoods away. And then I remember that his mom moved over in this area last month after his parents split.
I try to make myself look calm, but that's harder then you think.
As I try to leave without him noticing, *BANG*
I run in to him.
I was trying to keep my head down so he wouldn't see my face but I must have not seen him come this way.
We both fall to the ground.
I try to get up, and he reaches his hand out to me for assistance.
I stand up and realize he's looking right at me.
"You okay?" He asks me with his beautiful smile appearing on his face. Is he actually talking to me right now?
"oh uh yeah I think so" I say with a bit of a smile myself
"Wait a second, are you Kai?" He asks me as if he'd been looking for me
"yeah...that's me" I say kind of curious
"I'm surprised you know who I am" I tell him getting a bit excited
"Well you are kind of Angels arch nemesis" He quickly says with a laugh. Kind of? I think to myself, more like full blown nemesis. How much does he really pay attention the the people Angel attacks?
"Well I should uh get back to my house" I say quick and turned around still holding his hand, he then grips my hand a bit harder and pulls me back. He holds me close to his body and keeps looking at my eyes and lips. Just as he was leaning in to do what I think, his phone buzzes and I pull back. I start feeling really awkward and he tells me that he has to get home. I nod, turn around and walk away.

I get to my house and see my moms car in the drive way, I don't really wanna see her right now. So I head to the back yard and lay on my back on the trampoline.
I lay there, still as a rock, just thinking. Then I start to doze off.

I wake up in my room. I don't really know how I got inside but I just forget about it. I look at my clock and see that it's already 9am, good thing I didn't have a class this morning. I get up and prepare myself for today and whatever anyone's gonna say to me at school.

I walk in and see Jamie with some of her other friends. Un like her I don't have many other friends besides Jamie. She waves and gives me a smile and then turns back to talking. I keep walking down the hall, surprisingly no one has made any comments yet...I don't really understand why but at least no ones bugging me. But they are staring that's for sure. I get to my locker and I don't see Tanner nor Angel. Now I'm starting to question everything. I grab my books and walk towards my next class.
As I'm walking I see mr. Sigger wavering me down. I walk towards his office.
"Ah Mrs. Loyd, can I speak with you in my office?"
I walk into his office and take a seat in one of the chairs across from his desk, they aren't the most comfortable things ever but whatever.
"I'd like to discuss the situation that happened in the hall yesterday, with you and Mrs. Montclair"
"It wasn't my fault"
"I'm not saying it is, just I understand that you two have had it out for each other for quiet some time"
"well all I'm gonna say is that it's not my fault she's the devil"
After that he lets me leave and I walk out of there. Once I get into the hall I see Tanner walking in my direction. I don't know how I feel about what happened yesterday and I don't know how he feels either.
I look in his direction and he sees me, he gives me a smile, bites his lip and a wink and turns back to his friends. I smile at him too and then keep walking.
