"What‽ What do you mean Marinette is sick?" Adrien almost yelled at the person on the other end of the phone.

"Well yeah dude. We were planning to go to the Christmas markets today, y'know all four of us. But since she's not so fine, we thought of moving it up until tomorrow. Think you could make it?" Nino replied from the other end. But unlucky for him, the blonde did not hear anything else, maybe he did but he only picked the statement of his interest.

"What's wrong with Marinette? Is it serious?" If Nino found his not- so obvious and sudden excessive concern for Marinette, he didn't say anything about it. Mainly because Alya was stepping on his feet and telling him to play it cool, but that's besides the point.

"It's just a cold. Chill dude, she'll probably be okay by tomorrow."

"Is she... Is she with you?" Adrien didn't even want to imagine how terrible it would have been for Marinette, she had been perfectly fine the previous night. What had happened? Whether it was a common cold or not, the thought of her in any form of discomfort irked him.

"She's asleep. Alya and I just left the bakery. She left her window open last night. So think you get with us tomorrow?"

Adrien held his breathe. Marinette was sick because of him. The window must have swung back open when he jumped off. She was sick because of him. He felt an unease in his stomach.
"Yeah, I'll ask and tell you later." He managed to choke out before hanging up immediately.

He needed to see her so badly.

When Nino hung up, he and Alya walked back to Marinette's bed where she was wrapped up in a blanket, a much thicker one she'd traded for her usual one.

Alya sat on the edge of the bed. "I'm so sorry, girl." She placed a comforting hand on her. Marinette nodded in negation, slightly shivering, "It's okay, I'm fine. I feel..." She sneezed.

"Terrible..." She groaned, her nose twitching from the after effects.

"It's okay girl, the medicines would soon kick in and you'll be up and healthy in no time. You better be, cuz Adrien might be coming with us tomorrow."

"Really?" She squeaked, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

"You know, Adrien also kept asking about you, he really wanted to know how you were doing." Alya added, hoping to get a reaction from the bluenette. "Yeah, I don't think I've seen him as worried for anyone else." Nino added.

Marinette however did not seem excited in anyway, more than anything, she looked confused for a moment, "He did?"

"Okay who are you and what have you done to the real Marinette? The real Marinette would've screamed in excitement." Alya narrowed her eyes playfully and Marinette giggled lightly. At least she tried to even if it came out in small coughs. "My throat hurts, Alya. I can scream."

"Still, there should've been a reaction."

Marinette's expression dropped for a split second. The thought of Adrien was as exciting as it used to be. And she didn't even know why?"

Nathalie walked into Adrien's room, his chef following behind her holding a metal flask. Nathalie gestured him to place it on the table and leave. And he did so.

"Why did you ask for that? Are you feeling sick?" She asked, her voice slipping from the professionalism farce since it was about his health.

Adrien nodded in negation, "No, it's just a craving."

Nathalie nodded before diverting her attention to her tablet in her hand. "The trip to Geneva is moved to after Christmas since you'll be modelling the New Year's collection."
