3: They start dating your friend
4: You start dating their friend
5: Everyone still thinks you're together
6: You start fighting in front of everyone
7: They mention some of the embarrassing things you told them when you were together to you in front of other people
8: They find out that you've started hanging out with another ex of theirs (heh heh, we formed an alliance)
