Ambivalent Promises

Chapter 2

Next morning, jungkook woke up with sweat dripping off his body. He was pretty sure he took his suppresants for the upcoming heat but that didn't seem to work this time. He was in so much pain that he didn't even thought of the possibility of his heat being triggered because of the close proximity with an alpha last night. He groaned in pain and tried to get up to take a shower but ended up on the floor with a loud thud. His father came rushing in his room and as soon as he entered the room he understood what was happening. He helped jungkook to lay back on his bed and immediately went to the pack healer for something that will control his heat. As he was coming out of the pack healer's cabin he was stopped by someone. "Good morning Mr. Jeon. Is everything ok? Why were you in healer's cabin? Are you hurt ?" Mr. Jeon gave him a small smile seeing how caring the alpha is. "Yes Jimin I am ok its just that jungkook went into heat unexpectedly. He is always on suppressants but this time I think that didn't work. Anyways I have to give these herbs to him before he goes completely in his heat so see you later." Saying this Mr.Jeon went away. Jimin stood there thinking about the omega. He was worried about the omega now.'jungkook is not like other omegas he is different i hope he get through his heat safely' he thought. He then went to meet his very good friend and his mate who happened to be this pack's alpha and luna 'Kim Namjoon' and 'Kim Seokjin'. 

Namjoon was discussing some important things about rogues with the elders of the village and jin was sitting beside him and listening to their conversation with full attention. They didn't realized there was someone waiting patiently for them to finish the meeting. Once they ended the meeting they realized that there was this short grey haired man standing in the far corner of the room waiting for them. Namjoon realized that his friend was waiting there for the meeting to end. He excused himself and went to jimin and hugged him. "Jiminie I thought you left yesterday. You always leave on the same day. How come you stayed here this time?." "Hyung, I happened to meet this cute omega last night and he was really different from the other omegas who cling every time they see new alphas. I am not saying every omega is like that but every other omega i meet is like that so.... and i dont know why but this omega was very different from the others. Anyways so that's why i decided to stay and get to know this omega" jimin explained with a wide smile and a faint red taint on his cheeks. "Aigoo jiminie got a crush on an omega in our pack. Alpha why don't you help him get to know the omega. Actually no i know all the omegas in our pack better than you so i will help him myself." jin came out of nowhere and said while squishing jimin's cheeks. Jimin didn't mind it a bit. He was used to this type of affection from his friends especially jin. Yes he was an alpha but he was not at all egoistic when it came to his friends. He adored them. Despite being omegas jin and taehyung, his best friend both treated him like a baby. He enjoyed being babied by both of them. 

"Jin hyung as much as i will like for you to help me we can't meet him for atleast a few days. His father told me this morning that he went into heat suddenly. So i guess i will have to wait for a bit to meet the omega again." jimin explained and jin looked somewhat sad but then he suddenly asked "who is he by the way can you atleast tell me the name or you dont even know his name?" Jimin smiled and said "Jungkook. His name is Jeon Jungkook." Hearing that name jin's smile faded away and a concerned look came on his face. He looked at namjoon and saw he was also looking at him with the same expression on his face. "Jimin are you sure it was jungkook?  Because as far as i know he don't go to the events like this " Jin asked with somewhat expecting look in his eyes as if expecting that it was not jungkook. "Yes hyung his father introduced me with him at the gathering. Why will I mistake in the name of the omega I was so intrigued by? "Jin looked dejected as soon as the words left jimin's mouth. Jimin noticed this and was now troubled by the reaction he was getting from his friends as if there was something very bad about liking the omega. He tried asking both of them what the problem was but only got a "He hates alphas in general jimin, he won't be happy to know an alpha is dreaming of mating with him" Dejected by the words left from namjoon's mouth he decided he will go back and come back some other day to know more about jungkook. 

Back at Mystic pride pack Jimin reached with a sad face. He greeted his parents and directly went to his room. He had his own cabin which he made all by himself for his future mate but he felt lonely living alone in that cabin so he decided he will be living with his parents like he was living before till he finally find his mate. He sat on the bed and started thinking again about the omega who captured his heart in the first meeting only. He was thinking about his dark brown eyes and the mole which he noticed under his lower lip and then his sweet lavender smell which lingered on him that whole night. He then started thinking about what namjoon said and why does jungkook hate alphas so much? He want to know the reason behind it. So he got up and went to his dad to know more about the boy. 

"Hey dad." He greeted as soon as he reached in his dad's office. Mr.Park was doing some work he guessed from the papers in his hand. Mr.Park looked up at him and kept the papers under the book on the table and got up from his seat. "Hey son. Is there any problem? You don't look very good to me. Is something bothering you?" His father asked concerned by looking at his bothered face. "Dad you and Mr.Jeon are good friends right?" His dad looked at him with a puzzled expression "Yes son but why do u ask?" Jimin sighed and talked "Dad do you happen to know why jungkook hate alphas so much ? " Mr.Park was taken aback by such a question from his son. He never would've expected his son to ask this question so soon. Ofcourse he expected jimin to ask this question but not this early, not just a day after meeting jungkook. So he took a deep breath and said "Jimin , son the reason behind this is linked to jungkook's past which i must say was not very good. And it would only be fair if you know about this by himself only. But let me tell you this that you will meet him again very soon so you can try and be friends with him and make him believe that not all alphas are bad. Would you do that for me dear?" He asked jimin with so much hope in his eyes but there was this distant pain in his eyes which made jimin feel some type of way and it was not good at all. He could only nod his head as the words were stuck in his throat. He then decided to leave this topic for now.
