Merry Christmas

Percy awoke early, but not quite ready to get up. He rolled around and saw that it was six a.m., sunlight softly seeped through and past the curtains. He rolled around again, seeing the most beautiful woman in the world next to him. He smiled, loving the way the light fell on her and the soft look on her face.

He just loved her so much.

Maybe it sounded creepy, but he could look at her forever. And he kind of did. Well, for an hour. It wasn't like he had gotten enough of her, but he felt antsy and so he decided to make her some breakfast. So he slipped in some pajama pants and walked to the kitchen to cook.

After a while he put everything on a plate and walked into the bedroom to find her laying there eyes half open and smiling as she saw him.

He set the plate down on his drawer and crawled on the bed. He peppered kisses on her face and ended on her mouth. She was smiling as her eyes fluttered open.

She pulled him closer so that now he was hovering above her and kissed him again to which he had happily agreed to.

"Well good morning." She mumbled, pushing soft kisses against his lips.

"Marry me."

Time stopped.

They seemed frozen in place.

Him hovering above her, looking into her eyes as he repeated the words. As if she hadn't heard him.

"Marry me."

He knew that this was stupid. This wasn't the way he had planned this. They were supposed to go to Montauk for a long weekend where he would propose. He would give this whole speech and get down on one knee and ask her. She would cry a little, but already see it coming since she knew about the ring for a couple of weeks now.

Everything would've been perfect. But he ruined it.

She still hadn't answered.

"Where's the ring?" She asked, smirking slightly.

"Of course!" He shouted as he jumped up and ran to the hall where his jacket was hanging. He felt the now familiar feel of the ring box and ran back to her. Tripping two or three times along the way.

"I'm back! I'm back!" He shouted, stopping just before the bed and falling down on his knees.

Annabeth let out the most adorable laugh and sat up, wrapping the sheet around her.

He readjusted a bit, now sitting on one knee and opening the ring box to reveal the ring he had carefully picked out with Grover two months ago.

"I planned a different setting and moment, but I guess I'll just go with the flow. Annabeth Chase, you're the most amazing, beautiful, smartest woman in the whole wide world. There is no one who can compare to you. Not even the goddesses themselves. When I see Aphrodite I only see you. And I love you so, so much. I would fall into Tartarus for you everyday, I would hold the sky for you and take every wound and scar with a big smile, because I know I'd do it for you. I would do everything for you. I want to spend every day together. And you would make me the happiest man in the whole wide world if you would marry me. So please, Annabeth Chase, will you marry me?"

Thick tears streamed down her face as she jumped off the bed and into his arms, hugging him and shouting, "Yes, yes, yes! Of course I'll marry you!"

She kissed him, grabbing both sides of his head while he wrapped his arms around her.

Both of their hearts beat fast when they pulled  back. They started into each other's eyes, both watery, and Percy was sure this was one of the happiest moments of his life.

"Oh shit, the ring." He shouted.

Annabeth muttered something about language, but didn't really seem to mind.

He sat back a bit and grabbed her hand, giving it a soft squeeze and a kiss before putting the ring on her finger.

"It's beautiful." She cooed and fell into his arms again, hugging him. This time her arms around his neck while he held her tight not ever wanting to let her go. It only made it better that she was holding him just as tight as well.

After they had cooled down a bit he spoke up, "I'm really sorry it didn't go as planned. I had this whole plan to go to Montauk, I even reserved the cabin."

"No, no, no, I love this. It's exactly like us. Nothing we do is strictly planned out, as much as I try to. And we can still go to Montauk to celebrate."

"You're amazing." He replied, kissing her softly, holding her as if she was made out of porcelain.

"Yes, you mentioned that."

He snorted, rolling his eyes, and lightly tickled her, standing up and scooping her up in his arms.

She yelped in surprise and then laughed loudly as he softly threw her on the bed and crawled on her again.

He was planting soft kisses on her, which she seemed to enjoy, when she spoke up. "I don't know if you forgot, but we do have to go to your mother soon. It's Christmas after all."

"We can call het that we aren't going to make it to breakfast. I'm sure she wouldn't mind. I think she will understand that we miss breakfast."

"Miss breakfast? You have some plans?" She teased, pressing soft kisses on his jaw.

"Yeah, we're going to be busy for a while."

She hummed and giggled, a rare sound coming from her, and he kissed her again.

"Merry Christmas, Beth." He whispered against her lips.

"Merry Christmas, Percy."
