It's Okay You Can Rest Now

"You've got to be kidding me!" Percy groaned, rolling out of bed, already seeing Annabeth getting dressed. They had been woken up from the alarm bell and Annabeth had been the first to jump out of bed.

"Come on, we've got to hurry! Just get dressed, I'm already outside. See you out there, Seaweed Brain."

But before she could hurry outside he pulled her into a hug, already having a bad hunch. He kissed her sweetly, never wanting to let her go. But the moment ended too soon as they had to go.

Their home, Camp Half-Blood, was being attacked after all. He pulled a shirt over his head and put some pants other than his pj's on and followed her, Riptide already drawn.

They ran into Chiron and asked him what exactly was going on.

"A roar up from Gaia's last followers. This should be the last one." He explained to them and then ran off to go and help some younger campers. After the war some followers of Gaia kept attacking them, not wanting to accept that Gaia was gone.

"Okay, a strategy." Annabeth mumbled, turning to him as they began running over the hill and into the battle.

"It's better if we split up I think." She looked at his frown. Normally Annabeth wanted them to stay together in battle, since they could really play into each other and knew exactly what the other would do. But they were both one of the stronger fighters and they could better help the others. And meet up at one point.

That was what she explained to him and she pointed at a point in the middle and they agreed that they would meet up there. She kissed him briefly and then ran off into the monster hurdle.

She sliced through monsters and it went pretty well; according to her calculations they could easily win if they kept going with this.

She saw Clarisse flashing by, attacking some monster who was about to attack the younger campers. Annabeth ran up to him to give them some instructions and advice on how they could survive.

There were more campers on Percy's side and they were defeating them faster. Sometimes she could hear Percy yell something at someone and couldn't help but sigh in relief that he was still alive.

Deep inside she knew that Percy was hard to kill and wouldn't die that fast. But it still got her chills if she thought too long about what could happen.

"Don't have time for this." She muttered and focused on some other monster. She sliced through it and focused on another one, not wanting to think too much anymore. Which was a rare thing to say for a daughter of Athena. She just wanted to end this fight, which had been going for far too long and they had lost far too many campers, meet Percy in the middle and hopefully get some rest in the afternoon.

So she fought and fought. She got stabbed in the arm, but that didn't really matter.

They were almost done when she saw Percy running up to her. She faced him, happy that he was there. And alive. His side of campers was done with the monsters, only two or three left.

"Annabeth watch out!" Percy screamed, pushing her aside. Annabeth couldn't register what was going on, Percy had pushed her on the ground, taking her place. And then she looked aside and then there was blood. Everywhere. Coming out of- Percy. There- there must have been a monster that she hadn't seen.

"Percy!" She roared out, tears already welling up in her eyes. He was laying on the ground, clutching his stomach.

She removed her hands and pulled his shirt up. He groaned in pain. Annabeth couldn't locate the wound since there was too much blood.
