Traffic was once again heavy, my eyes were strained of staring into red bright lights on my front. I never expected Korea's traffic would even worsen as years passes, Waze exists I know, but I haven't downloaded it on my phone.
Jessica told me to meet here around the Gangnam district, checking every streets and corners, there was no Jessica. I decided to park the car and wait beside the sidewalk, on front of the large barbecue restaurant that I didn't bother to look for its name. 24K magic by Bruno Mars on the radio? I immediately twisted the volume up and jammed with the music as I waited for her.
Half an hour later, there were several knocks on my window. I decided to ignore it, thinking it might be only a noise or a thud outside. The knocks was heard once again and this is where I decided to check. Surprisingly, it was my imagining Fiancé, I mean it was Jessica. She's in a white, folded looking coat, some outfit you would see on a rich person.
"I kept knocking, what the hell is wrong with you." She complained, placing her small bag on the space between me and her. She furrowed her brows and showed a palm. "Plus, what's with the radio. It's so loud."
I slowly twisted the volume down, and grinned. "I'm surprised you found my car, Gangnam is a big city and I'm not even expecting you that you'll show up on that door."
She slowly shook her head in response before glaring away from me. She suddenly began unbuttoning those three shiny buttons of her coat which immediately caught me off, choking as I looked at the front. "It's not hard to say 'Hey I'm going to remove my clothes, is it okay?' "
"It's not but why would I," she answered, keeping her sight down the button.
I sighed loudly, placing taps on the steering wheel as I let out a word. "What do you mean why would you? What is that?"
"I mean why would I ask permission, if you're already used to women undressing their clothes around you." She chuckled, finally pulling out the last button as she pulls her coat out.
"Yah?" I scoffed and looked at her, mesmerized by her thin figure as she was surprisingly in a black crop top. Why am I like this everytime I see a woman wearing that kind of shirt? "I mean. . . What are you talking about?" I stuttered.
She gently threw her coat as it made its way to my face, keeping my head straight as possible as I slowly slid my eyes open in a straight face. Confused and shocked with her action, I wanted to throw her out from this car. But, there was a saying if someone threw you a rock, throw a loaf at them. It's not fair.
The district was bright and colorful enough to keep me entertained while I drive. I also wondered what was happening on that group gathering back on the funeral, there's a possibility that I'm their topic, but not as I care that much.
"Met the girls?" Jessica began, observing the traffic outside through her window.
I sighed. "They invited me for a dinner but, I refused."
With widened eyes, she turned to look at me. "I'm surprised, why is it?"
"What's the point of appearing on their faces again, I only have two weeks in this country."
"Well," Jessica pouted, and raised her shoulders. "2 weeks is long enough for them to take you back again."
"As if they're going to succeed on that one." She added, I knew she was implying something but it's a waste of time to think much about that. I kept my eyes on the road as I talked to her.
I pressed my foot against the brakes hardly as I can, pushing us off from our seats. I almost collided against the pickup truck that's trying to cut me off; my heart skipped a beat and I almost fainted. Jessica gave me two widened eyes, trying to regain her balance back as she pressed her back on the seat again.
The pickup truck won't move even the traffic had finally flowed. Frustrated, I pressed the horn long enough for him to get embarrassed from his stupidity he has done.
"Calm down with the horn, god." Jessica rolled her eyes at me, looking away as she gazed over the pickup. I pulled the handbrake and decided to play patience game with this asshole, he seemed to keep his pride and he never knew he's creating more traffic behind me.
The driver's door opened and revealed a guy in a gray shirt, blue cap and a silver necklace on his neck. With the looks I can say he's taller than me by an inch. There's no reason for me to get intimidated against a cracked up person.
He yelled on the front but it was inaudible, my Charger's idling sound was louder than what I could hear outside. Jessica wrapped her hands on the seatbelt around her, I could see the nervous building up on her. "What is this guy's problem?"
A loud thud sounded, I realized he kicked my front bumper and made Jessica squeal in shock. I swallowed the lump on my throat and breathed out loudly, the guy finally reached my boiling point and he deserves a good lesson tonight. There's no way he could do such thing in front of the traffic.
"I should call 911, hang there." Picking up her phone from her bag, she immediately looked at me when she heard me open my door. "Yah?! What the fuck are you trying to do?"
I pointed my finger on her phone and asked her to video it. Videoing is the key for situations like this, it's the red button for everything. She grabbed my hand and tried to stop me, but it wasn't enough.
I stood up and faced the guy calmly as I can. He smelled beer and liquor, this must be the most cliche reason I can see on a road rage. He bobbed his head and began approaching me.
"Who do you think are you kid, huh?" He kept his head raised. It's funny to think that he looked stupid. He placed a hard tap once again on my Charger's hood; closing my eyes at how painful it sounded.
"Mister, I would like to ask you to stop hitting my car because this worths more than your whole life combined."
Another thud sounded, I felt the urge of knocking this guy down the cold floor. He kept his gaze on me and kept his face that I find it annoying.
"What are you going to do, big shot? He mocked, pushing me by my chest. People on the sidewalks began to gather, phones facing our direction as vehicles passed us by. One more contact with me, I'd embarrass you in front of the people.
About to place his hand on my chest again, I immediately grabbed his arm and twisted it, making him tilt to the left. He groaned in pain; as if I cared about him. Pulling him closer to me, I grabbed the back of his collar and made him meet the window hard.
He was completely immobilized, his right arm was still on my hold as I placed both of his arms behind him, like what polices do before they arrest a criminal."If I was just an officer, I could have arrested you for assault." I said on his right ear, tightening my grip on his hands. I never realized he had a companion until he showed up on my left; handing a metal bar.
I sent out a kick on the new guy's right leg and made him kneel for a moment. Before he could've stand, I threw the guy on my hold down the floor, and turned to face the new challenger. No time to waste, he rushed me with his bar. I grabbed his hand with the bar and pushed it down, my fist met his cheek as I immediately grabbed his nape and slammed his face towards the hood.
Both assholes were down the floor; one with his hand on his neck and one holding his arm. Some crowds began to cheer and clap, my heart was racing and I could feel my nerves tense up; I've never been into a fight again since my stay here. I've changed and I never wanted to hurt someone, but I had no choice I have to protect myself.
Leaving the area, Jessica kept her eyes at me; her hand covering her mouth as we pull out. She was completely frozen, not a single word had escaped from her mouth and it was cute and hilarious.
I smirked. "You good? Why are you like that."
She cleared her throat; clueless on what to answer and react. She shook her head and widened her eyes. "Still, you shouldn't have engaged that confidently. What if they had a gun? I'm going to be liable for everything."
I pouted. "Sadly, they don't have. Plus, they deserved a good beating."
Pulling the gearshift to the 4th gear, she glared away and looked back on her window, avoiding a sight of me. Behind, I could see a smile forming on her lips through the window reflection.
