When we were lovers

A rose for you. (POV: North)

After Jade and her mom came over:
Once Jade had left it felt as if I was missing something. It felt as if I needed her. I place the remaining roses on the kitchen counter. I grab the car keys, and drive away. As I am exiting the driveway I see Jade running up to me. I wonder what she wants?
Out of breath she says, "hey! So I was wondering if you were doing anything today?"
"I wasn't really planing on doing much. Why?"
Jade take a longer time to respond, catching her breath, she replies, "well we could hangout and I could show you some cool places around town!"
She seemed excited. Should I go.
"Sure why not!" I say hastily.
She gets into the passenger side of my car. I start to blush, but I hide it. She looks so pretty. No one has ever made me feel this way.
She looks me in the eye and says,
"Music?"
"Umm, yeah!"
"Great so what do you want to listen to?"
"Well we can listen to Fall in love with you, Montell Fish."
"Ok sounds good!"
It only takes about 3 minutes to get to the first place Jade likes to go. She tells me about all the history, but I don't listen I just watch her. I think I like her. I think I want to be with her. For some weird reason I want to feel her touch, to feel her lips against mine. What am I saying. Jade keeps talking but I can't focus.
"Hey so do you want to just go lay down in the grass?" I blurt out.
"Oh, umm yeah sure! Do you by any chance have a blanket in your car?"
"Not that I know of but you can use my jacket," I offered.
"Really? Are you sure that's ok."
"Yeah I don't mind." I give a little side smile.
She looks at me as if I said I love you to her. I can't help but blush now.
"Stop looking at me like that," I blurt out.
She blushes and looks away. I place down my jacket and we lay down together, just watching the clouds move. Slowing passing over us. The color of the sky begins to change into beautiful warm tones. The colors all blend together making it the perfect moment to kiss her. Right?i look over at Jade and she's looking right back. I feel like I should kiss her right now.
I lean closer to her, and her face is bright red. I want to say something but then she pulls me in close and kisses me. I kiss her back. Her lips soft and warm. We don't stop kissing. I don't want to stop kissing. Jade pulls away.
"I am sorry." She says, I want to tell her no don't be sorry but all I do is pull her to me and kiss her passionately. She kisses me back.
"Jade, can I-I ask you something?" I feel so vulnerable right now.
"Ye-yeah what is it north?" Jade says shyly.
"Do you want to, I don't know, go to my house?"
She doesn't reply which makes me worried.
She just looks at me. I wish I could read what's happening in her head.
Then she says in a low voice, "I am sorry, but I can't, I can't go to your house."
Jade gets up and starts to walk away from me. I rush after her wondering what I said to make her mad at me. Maybe I was rushing things to quickly. We make it back to the car.
"Do you just want me to drop you off at your house?"
I ask but she doesn't respond. She doesn't do anything. Jade just stares out of the car blankly. I can't read her. So I turn on the car and drive her back.we don't say a word for the rest of the time together. When I pull up to her house she all she says is goodbye.
Later that afternoon:
I walk out to the pond/lake behind my fence. I sit there for what feels like a few minutes but is actually a few hours. I felt calm. I went back in before night fall but there's something about that lake that makes me feel a home.
