We packed my stuff, signed papers, and started to drive away. I had no friends there and the food wasnt that good so I didn't care that I was leaving. I did care that out of the blue I finally got a home and it was with someone who actually knew me and I knew them. Some people saw me and wanted me but they always saw some other kid who was more loving and cheerful but with me I would sit in the corner and write. They always had classes in the orphanage but I was always the one in back and knew everything. It was like you asked me a question and without even thinking I knew it.
While we were driving I just sat in the back seat and thought to myself. Will I screw this up and they send me back to the orphanage? Will they not like me? To many questions going through my head about if they would give me back saying that they don't want me anymore. I was so deep in my thoughts that when they asked me a question I didn't hear them. "Katie? Are you okay?" James asked. I blinked a bit. "Yeah sorry, what did you ask again?." My face turned red. Well this was a good start to them liking me. James chuckled. " Have you ever... Seen a dog before? " He asked hesitant about the question.
Have I ever seen one? Was there one in my life before the fire? I remember in class at the orphanage seeing one on a card before but I don't think I've ever touched one before. "I've seen one on a card before but I've never been close to one before." I said truthfully.
In the review mirror I saw his face surprised. "Oh! Well you'll love the dog we have at home then! He fluffy, big and so lovable! His name is Saber. He's a Siberian Husky with white and black furr." Ridley said cheerfully. I was kind of afraid because I don't know what they do. I know thy bark but thats it.
Awhile later we took a road that kinda of look like a back road. We were on that for awhile. Then about 5 minutes later I saw a lake it was big and beautiful. Then a couple minutes after that I saw a big black fence that looked like it went on for ever. They pulled up to the gate that was black and big then Ridley got out and unlocked it then we pulled up and she locked it then got back in.
"Katie just to warn you our house is a very big house. You may get lost and we do have some pets that I will get you aquatinted with when we get closer." Ridley said. Are they rich?! This looks amazing! We keep driving and I see a pool that's really big, I'd love to swim in that! I start to get really excited to see the house an what's here. This is a dream I know it. This cannot be happening. Then I see the house.
