Quinn
"Daddy!" I shouted down the stairs.
I waited a few seconds before I heard his quick footsteps against the white marble floor and then his thumping feet on the stairs as he made his way to me. A quick rap on my door and then he came in. I beamed. My daddy was the best in the world, and never denied me of anything. You could probably say I was a bit spoiled but with two older brothers, and I mean much older, I was his baby.
"Yes princess," he said, smiling back at me.
"Rachel just texted me saying she was down at the beach and asked if I wanted to join her. Please daddy I really want to," I said to him while pouting and fluttering my eyelashes.
He sighed, but I already knew I was allowed. It was practically a done deal.
"Fine. But remember that your curfew is eleven. No later or I'll be looking for you."
I immediately jumped up and kissed him on the cheeks.
"Of course daddy! When am I ever late? I promise I'll be back before eleven."
He smiled at me, gave me a hug and then left.
I pranced around my room, giddy with excitement. Rachel had been away at the Caribbean for her family's summer holiday and I really missed her. It was obvious that this was her 'welcome home' party. I knew there was going to be drinking involved but I was okay with that. I didn't drink. Most of my friends thought that that was really weird but I was underage, well so we're they, but I just didn't feel comfortable letting loose and losing control. I wanted to wait until I was a bit older and more mature.
I grabbed my beach bag, phone and car keys. The Range Rover had been my seventeenth birthday present just a month ago and I was already in love with it. It was a matte black on the outside with white leather seats inside. I had always wanted a car of my own and daddy had wanted me to have one of the safest ones there is. Hence, the Range Rover.
The rev of the engine brought me back to life and I took off down to the beach. There was a little cove that we loved to hang out in. There was a house about a hundred metres away from it but it had been empty for the past year, no one knew why. It was the perfect place for us to hang out and we always had a bonfire whenever we were there.
As I arrived, the first thing I noticed was Rachel's Audi parked to the right and Mark's BMW parked to the left. Of course Jake was here. He always came and brought the lads with him, and the alcohol. Rachel usually brought our friends Georgia and Sarah. I had known Rachel since birth. Our mums were best friends and daddy sometimes met with her dad for business meetings. Georgia and Sarah had become friends with us as the years went on. We were all on the cheerleading squad together and now I was the captain.
We actually balanced each other out pretty well. Rachel was the bubbly one. Whenever she was around you couldn't help but laugh and she always was there to give the best advice. Georgia was the fashionista. She always had the latest trend and wasn't afraid to tell you if you looked bad. She was upfront and brutally honest, and that was one of the things I loved the most about her. Sarah was cute and flirty and always got the boys. She didn't mind that she was, well a slut, and just enjoyed having a good time. I suppose I was the quiet one in comparison.
I slowly made my way to the bonfire, looking around at the lads that Mark had brought. Noah was sitting across the bonfire with a cheeky grin on his face. Since it was announced that he was quarterback and I was head cheerleader, he was set on us being a couple. Like that was ever going to happen. I mean, he was nice and all but a bit of a flirt. He thought he was a Greek God or something like that. Always showing off his so called 'beast of a bod'. His hair annoyed me so much though. It was shaved around the sides and too long on the top. It irritated me every time I looked at it and I was always tempted to scream.
Chad and Gerry were sat beside Georgia and Rachel. They were both couples and so cute together. Rachel seemed to be in a thing with Jake so this was great. Me and Noah were stuck together. I groaned mentally and then put on my brightest smile as Rachel bounded over to me. She threw her arms around me and squeezed tight. I squealed and pulled away.
"Rach it's so good to see you! Oh my god your tan!! I'm so jealous," I blurt out while taking in her physical appearance.
"You too girl! Love the new highlights!" She led me over to the bonfire and plonked me down beside her and Noah.
The 'welcome home' party began pretty much after that, with Jake producing the alcohol, as usual. I took a soda and just took in the scene around me.
After an hour everyone except me was a little tipsy and all up for playing spin the bottle. Like you'd ever get me to play that stupid game.
I sighed and wandered down to the shore. The sun was set and the view was beautiful. The sea seemed to stretch on forever. I crossed my arms and sat down on the sand, losing myself in thought.
"Hi. Can I help you?"
I jumped out of my skin and whipped around, looking for the source of this mysteriously deep and sexy voice. My eyes met with dark chocolate eyes and I suddenly couldn't breathe.Author's Note: Sorry cliffhanger I know !! Don't shoot me! I had to leave it at this to have somewhere to start next chapter. Yay!
