"I wonder what the three-headed dog is guarding." Ginny mused, eating her breakfast next to Neville. "Probably hiding something important." Neville said. Just then the owls came.
It was an early morning and Ginny and Neville were sitting at the Gryffindor table next to Demelza and Colin who were talking to each other. The owls had just come with the mail and Ginny and Neville took the mail from their owls before they soared away. Ginny looked through the many envelopes she had got and groaned.
"What?" Neville asked her. Ginny took out one pink envelope with many hearts on it. "This is for me." Ginny said flatly. Neville giggled. "I didn't know you're a girly girl."
"Oh shut up, the rest of the letters are for my brothers." Ginny said and got up. "Excuse me." she went away to her brothers. Neville turned his head to Demelza and Colin who were looking at the Daily Profit, the wizarding newspaper. They both looked shocked.
"What happened?" Neville asked them and Demelza showed Neville the first page."
GRINGOTTS BREAK-IN LATEST
Investigations continue into the break-in at Gringotts on 31 July, widely believed to be the work ofdark wizards or witches unknown.Gringotts' goblins today insisted that nothing had been taken. The vault that was searched hadin fact been emptied the same day.'But we're not telling you what was in there, so keep your noses out if you know what's good foryou,' said a Gringotts spokes goblin this afternoon.
"Yikes." Neville said, "But how?"
"It's good that it'd been emptied." Colin said grimly. Demelza frowned. "More like luck, I wonder what was in that vault?"
Neville looked at the newspaper again. "That's the day I went to Diagon Alley!" Neville exclaimed. "Did you see someone taking out something from the vault?" Colin asked.
Neville thought and thought but he just couldn't remember the day he went to Diagon Alley, you see he had a very bad memory so the Neville you know is pretty much the same Neville from this universe. Neville shrugged at Demelza and Colin who sighed and Demelza turned a page of the Daily Profit and Neville went back to his breakfast.
When Ginny came back, Colin told Ginny about the break-in. Ginny was as shocked as they were and Neville soon expected that the whole school would be talking about the break-in. They weren't, they were talking about Halloween.
Neville had told Ginny and Luna that the Halloween feast was the best, apart from Christmas although their were less people there. Ginny had been exited, she, like all the Weasleys, loved food but Luna had said something about Nargles and that she won't be attending the feast. Neville was disappointed at this, he was looking foreword to seeing Luna at the feast along with Ginny.
Soon Halloween came along and the school was filled with muggle-looking Halloween decorations, except that the decorations moved and made noises. When Ginny had woken up she saw a small box on her nigh table. Ginny blushed as all the girls in her dormitory giggled. Ginny opened the box and took out a neckless with many jewels and ornaments. Ginny frowned. It was pretty yes but too fancy for her. She put it on her bedside table and changed and went to breakfast.
