First Offline Concert

When I heard about the 2021 KPOP World Concert I was so ecstatic! It was the same with other members. Why? Because this was our first offline concert! Although that was a limited offline concert we did really anticipate it. It was a shame that we hadn't had our official Light Stick, so we couldn't recognize our MY right away. Yet, Karina Eonni had unique way. She asked our fans to bring cabbage or carrot. It was funny but maybe it could help.

The second surprise was when our manager also told us that NCT Dream would perform at the same event. Well, at least that was a surprise and also a blessing to me. It means that I had a chance to meet my crush in the backstage. Well, yeah... you know what I mean. It was Jaemin Sunbaenim!

We were busy preparing for our performance. We practiced day and night in order to present the best of us. Well, this was our first performance with audiences after all. I really had no time to think anything besides bringing the best of me. People would watch and of course Jaemin Sunbaenim too.

On the D day, we went to the concert venue. We arrived and escorted to our waiting room. In the corridor, I passed the room with 'NCT DREAM' written on the door. My heart began to race. Had they arrived yet? Could I meet Jaemin Sunbaenim here? I really wanted to see him badly. But of course, I couldn't do it blatantly.

My coordi eonni so my make-up and I finished earlier than my member. As I waited for them, I contemplated sending a message to Jaemin Sunbaenim. I already opened the KaTalk and looked at Jaemin Sunbae's contact for a good 1 minute.

Should I chat him? Or no?

"Aespa stand by in 10 minutes." Some staff called our group.

Well, maybe this wasn't the right time. This time Aespa shone in front of the audience.

Finally, our performance had ended. I felt a thrill that I couldn't describe. Really, doing performance in front of people had a very different feeling. The ambiance, the air, the energy, everything. I almost cried after finishing the performance.

When I walked in the corridor to our waiting room, I really hope that I could pass by Jaemin Sunbae. But maybe I had no luck this time. What a shame. All I could do was watch NCT DREAM performance through the screen in our waiting room.

I held myself to not fangirling over him. I screamed in silence when the camera zoomed in on his handsome face. Gosh, how could he be so perfect like that?

When NCT DREAM finished their performance and got down from the stage, I felt this was the chance that I could meet Jaemin Sunbae.

"Eonni, I want to go to the toilet." I lied. I just did that only to get out of the waiting room.

Manager eonni let me and I just walked away as if nothing happened. I walked through the corridor slowly and wait in the place that not so many people there. In no time, the group of handsome boys walked from the stage direction. Yes, that was NCT DREAM.

They walked past me and of course, notice me. I bowed to them and they greeted me in a friendly manner.

"Anyeong haseyo, Sunbaenim. Sugohaesseoyo!" I said.

"Oh, anyeong Winter ssi! Thank you!" Mark greeted me.

They were really kind and greeted me personally. Until finally the man that I waiting for.

"Anyeong Minjeong ssi." Jaemin Sunbae smiled at me.

"Anyeong haseyo!" I answered happily.

"What are you doing here?"

"Uhm, just got back from the toilet. I'm on my way back to my waiting room." I lied.

"Ah, I see." He nodded, "Oh, by the way, you did great!" He said.

We talked while we were walking. I walked slowly but seems that he followed my pace.

"Thank you. You too, Sunbaenim."

"Well, it must be different to you since this was your first offline concert."

"Ne, it was mind-blowing. I think I understand why you missed the offline concert so bad."

"Yep. That's what I'm talking about." He smiled. I loved his smile, always.

Our short walk along the corridor finally ended. Little did I know, I already arrived in front of Aespa waiting room.

"Ah, well... see you then, Sunbaenim." I said.

"See you." Jaemin waved and walked to his own waiting room.

I came back to my waiting room with a happy heart. How could that short and simple conversation bring me over cloud nine? Well, love that was.

On the way home in the van, I and my members talked about the performance. We were all very hyper and hope for the next offline concert in the future. Amidst the merry situation, suddenly my phone vibrated. I saw the notification and my heart skipped a beat. It was Jaemin Sunbaenim who sent me Katalk message.

Jaemin: Congratulation on your first offline performance!!

Jaemin: Chukhahae!

Jaemin: *Cute Stickers*

Jaemin: Neo neomu yeppeo...

What?! Was I dreaming? Jaemin Sunbae told me that I was pretty? Could I faint now? If only I was alone, I might scream my lungs out. I tried to control my breath and gained my sanity to reply to his message.

Minjeong: Thank you, Jaemin Sunbaenim!

Minjeong: *Heart emoticon*

Minjeong: Jaemin Sunbae is really handsome and cool too :))

Jaemin: *Smile emoticon*

Jaemin: You are on your way home?

Minjeong: Yes. You?

Jaemin: Yes, me too.

Jaemin: It must be a tiring day for you. Have a good meal and good rest.

Minjeong: Sunbaenim too.

Minjeong: By the way, I want to ask a question.

Jaemin: What is it?

Minjeong: Since I have your contact. In the future, can I chat with you first?

Jaemin: Sure! Why not?

Minjeong: Well, I'm afraid that I will disturb you. So I ask your permission in advance.

Minjeong: *Sad emoticon*

Jaemin: It's okay. Don't worry :))

I bit her lips to hold my scream. First, Jaemin Sunbae said that I was beautiful, and second, he said that I was cute. What was it? I even really pinched my cheek to make sure this was not only a dream.

Yes, it was a reality. Jaemin Sunbae said that I could chat with him freely. Even though he didn't know my true feeling, it was okay. I would love him in silence. And my love for him was getting stronger.
