Winter POV

December mean that we had a lot of year-end music concert schedules. One of the most special for me is MBC Gayo Daejejeon. Because that concert was held on 31 December 2021 and we would count down to 2022 together with other artists on the stage. Well, it was not only a merry happy new year but also a happy birthday for me.

The most exciting part was obviously NCT Dream joined the concert too. Yeah, you could guess how ecstatic I was to be in one stage with Jaemin sunbaenim. I really couldn't wait for the new year countdown.

Finally, the staff called all the artists to be on stage. Lucky for me that Aespa stood just right next to NCT. We were all waiting for the countdown while listened to the MC interviewed the representative of each idol group.

Secretly I looked at my right side and saw Jaemin sunbaenim talking with his members. He smiled and laughed with his friends. His orange hair really made him stood out. He was really handsome.

Finally, the countdown started.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Everyone shouted and clapped for the new year 2022. For me, I congratulated myself for my own birthday. I clasped my hand and made a wish.

"I hope this year I can get closer with Jaemin sunbaenim" I whispered in my heart.

I looked at the object of my prayer and magically he also looked at me. My heart skipped a beat. Butterflies started to fly inside my stomach.

"Happy new year" He mouthed to me.

I smiled at him and mouthed 'Happy new year' too.

After the countdown finished, all artists got back to their respective waiting rooms. We should wait to be back because of the pandemic protocol. After waited for a while, finally, Aespa was escorted into our waiting room.

When we entered our waiting room, I really didn't expect this. There were a lot of people inside and cheered "HAPPY BIRTHDAY WINTER!!"

I was stunned. Everyone was here, like literally everyone. There were our staff and managers, Red Velvet Sunbaenim and also NCT Sunbaenim. I scanned the room and yes, I found the man with that orange hair.

"Thank you very much." I said.

There was a cake in the middle of the room. I made a wish and blew the candle. My wish was still the same. First for me, second for Aespa, and third for Jaemin Sunbaenim. I looked up and our eyes meet. He smiled at me. That beautiful smile which always made my heart beats faster.

After a short birthday party. All sunbaenims got back to their own waiting room. They left and congratulated me once again. The schedule for today was done and we were heading home and finally got some rest.

Finally, we arrived in our dorm. I already took a bath and laid on my bed. As usual, I fiddled with my phone first before I sleep. I checked on my messages and instantly smiled.

Jaemin: Hey, Birthday girl :)

Minjeong: Hey, thank you sunbaenim.

Jaemin: Already arrived home?

Minjeong: Yes. You?

Jaemin: Me too.

Jaemin: By the way, can I call you?

Thump! My heart beats uncontrollably fast. Was it real? Jaemin sunbaenim wanted to call me? I looked at my roommate Ningning already fast asleep. Yet, I was afraid that I woke her up. So I sneaked out of the room and went to the living room. Then, I typed my answer.
