Chapter 10: Arrival Day
over the next three weeks I started getting stuff for the baby, Sarah's parents bought the baby a crib, Michael took me and we bought clothes, diapers, and different supplies, thankfully I had a list to go by otherwise I wouldn’t have known what to get. while we were shopping for clothes, Michael went to go find something else.
He came back holding this kind package “you are going to want one of these too baby, a friend of mine just had her baby and she uses this all the time, her baby hardly cries”
“whats it called?”
“it's called a wrap, you wrap it around your body then put the baby inside, and the baby is close to your heart and wrapped tightly Stacy said it imitates how the womb feels so that's why babies love it so much”
“wow, that’s really cool” he added it to the pile.
“have you packed your bag yet?” he asked
“uh, bag?”
“for the hospital love”
“no not yet, I know I need to though”
“Kelli your due any day now, I just want you to be prepared”
I smiled at him “I know, I'll pack when I get home” we paid for the stuff then we went back home, I went upstairs to pack my labor bag.
Sarah bounced in and jumped on my bed “guess what!” she said
“what girl?”
“I met someone!” she squealed
“like, a guy someone?”
“YES!”
“Omigosh! Really?! That's awesome, so? Who is he?”
“his name is Nicolas, he's 20, and he's in the christian book club I just joined, we exchanged emails and numbers and we've been talking for about a week, he's so nice, I really like this guy”
“oh Sarah I'm so happy for you, do you think he likes you too?”
“I don’t know, I really want to ask him but I'm so scared he'll say no”
“I still think you should bring it up, I mean what if he does like you? Even if he doesn’t, at least you'll know”
“yeah your right, so what did you and Michael buy?”
“we got some baby clothes, diapers, wipes, a baby wrap, and other things the baby will probably need”
“that’s great Kells, so are you scared about the delivery?”
“honestly? I'm terrified, I know it's going to hurt a lot, and I don’t know anything about being a mom, how am I going to do it Sarah?”
“Kelli, you love your baby, that's the most important part about being a mom, now about actually learning how to care for your baby, that's why you have help, we're here to help you”
“thank you so much Sarah, I don’t know what I'd do without you guys.”
“don’t even worry about it girl, we've all fallen in love with this baby even before we've met her. We know this is God's plan, and He's going to help you through all this, so who are you going to have in the room with you?”
“I asked Michael to be in there with me”
“oh wow, really? Are you sure?”
“yeah I'm sure, I want him there every step of the way”
