Camila's POV

I sit in my room. My bed morphing to fit my body. I know what is coming, I lay here  anxiously until the sound of footsteps arrive at the door. The door opens and a I wince. But I don't feel a swinging punch, a hit, a board coming loose and scratching me. I open one eye. Should I be mad or worried? Standing in the doorway is Y/N.

Y/N's POV

I excuse myself from dinner after having a little. I couldn't eat much after what happened with Camilo.

I walked upstairs, at first I was just going to make my bed in Mirabel's room, but when I passed Camilo's room I couldn't help but check in on him. Plus, I needed to find out what was wrong with him.

I slowly opened the room to find his bed in the center. He was curled up in a ball but when I entered he flinched. His eyes shut, expecting the worst...? After a minute, he opened one eye and rested on me. His face was a mix of emotions. Was he mad? Sad? Worried?

"What do you want?" He finally spoke.

His voice was calm and collected, but cautious too.

"I wanted to see how you were doing...is there something your not telling me?" I ask.

He looks down.

I stand there for a minute, trying to figure out what to do. Then a single tear slips down his cheek, then another, followed by three more. He was crying.

Before I could say anything he shifted into a small child. It looked like him...if he was  5.  He was in a tight ball, shaking with sobs.

I walk over to him, sitting at the foot of the bed. Maybe it was out of sympathy, or maybe it was because he looked like a small child, but something about him at the moment eased my fear. I stroked his back.

He slowly calmed down, still occasionally sniffling. I was going to say something...I wasn't sure what, but the door swung open and Alma stood, a....whip in hand...

what was she doing.

I felt a hand on my back, gently pushing me off the bed. I turned and saw Camilo, he was back to his normal form. He looked hurt, like he knew what was about to happen. "You should go." He said softly.

I get up and look at him questioningly.

"He's right. You should go. I expect Mirabel is looking for you." Alma says, her voice filling the empty space.

I turn and look at her hands. They look ready, as if she was going to....

"Oh, he'll be fine. Just a lesson that's all." She says.

I shake my head. She looks at me sternly.

"Y/N, please, leave." Camilo says, pleading with me.

I turn to him once again, his jaw his clenched and his fists set. Alma grabs me and guides me out of the room, shutting the door before I can protest.

I am about to start knocking on the door when I feel a hand on my shoulder.

"He's used to it. It happens every once in a while." Mirabel says.

She looks down in shame. No! I am NOT going to let her do this! It's my fault the water spilled. He was just saving my sorry butt. (keeping it PG)

I turn around but Mirabel grabs my hand and shakes her head. I remember what I came here to do and I nod slowly. As we walk away I here Alma shout something before a loud cry rings through my ears. Once we save Casita, I will save Camilo as well.
